UPDATE****NWR...any one have the blackberry storm??
i have been debating for months on what new phone to get from verizon wireless, DH is in love with the storm but i have not heard any fabulous reviews.... any one have it? do u like it or love it or think its ok? is it worth the 200 bucks? thanks
update....
so i just ordered the storm.....i cant wait for it to come

is that the one with the touch screen? my sister ordered it. she said she might return it. she had a treo, which also has a touch screen, but the storm doesn't have a keyboard and she has a hard time typing on it.

DH has it and doesnt like it at all!!
its REALLLLYYYYY slow and sometimes it doesnt ring when someone is calling. he also says the battery life suucks!!

it does have a keyboard. I remember BIL kept saying his doesnt have a keyboard and i kept telling him its not true and that it does have one. FInally when i saw him last week, i asked if he figured out how to get the keyboard and he said yes so now he has it. But when you first go on it, it is like the phone buttons, but theres a mode you put it on or something to make it a keyboard. I knew bc in the commercial for it, it points out that it has a keyboard to make it easier to type and they show them typing with it. So just tell her to read the manual.
Sometimes takes time to learn the features. Like DH does everything with his iphone and learns about it but meanwhile my cousin told him if he knew that if you turn your iphone sideways when using the calculator it automatically turns into a scientific calculator and he had no clue.

but its a touch keyboard right? like the iphone or whatever? her treo had both - a regular keyboard and the touch - so she's having a hard time getting used to it. I think that's what she meant... plus does it not have a stylus? i can't remember but those were her complaints about it; i'm very happy with my old school bberry so i wouldn't ever switch.

ok this is how you get the blackberry qwerty keyboard. There are 2 modes, the suretype layout which is the old blackberry way with more letters on 1 key. Then there is the landscape mode which is the qwerty keyboard, so tell your sis to go to landscape mode to get it. Her phone is probably on suretype mode right now

yeah its a touch keyboard. Oh you mean like having a keyboard on the phone itself where you can touch the keys? Yeah the blackberry storm just has the touch one

yup. i think that was her issue with it; typing on the touch screen she just found easier on her treo and she likes the option of the other keyboard. I personally am not a huge fan of touch screens; dh has the LG voyager that's touch but still has a keyboard and his itouch too and i'm just not crazy about it. he loves them both though.

Yeah I accidentally figured that out one day. But the thing that drives DH and I nuts is that you can't get your e-mail sideways.

Maybe this will help you....
DH just got it the day after Christmas. He debated and did a ton of research (he is an IT guy) and uses it for work purposes.
His biggest worry was it was going to be slow so he went in to talk to the Verizon people. Verizon updated the software and network a few weeks ago so all the original glitches are no longer a problem.
He loves it. Has no problems with it and it does have a keyboard. He is an IT guy and very hard to please when it comes to technical things so if he likes it I think it must be good.
I have the Dare and I don't like it. DH hates it!

My DH has the treo and uses it for work purposes. There would be no way he could ever switch because for his business which is technology he needs to be on a windows operating system. His treo allows him to log into camera systems and view in real time to demonstrate to clients how the system works with your phone.
I have the curve and wanted the storm, but i love the track ball and the keyboard and i think im going to stick with what i have for now.

I just got the curve over the weekend and so far I like it. I went to the store and told them I was interested in the storm and curve. One sales guy said 'i recommend the curve - I had the storm and returned it, it's VERY annoying if you text/email a lot'. The other sales guy still had the storm so he let me try it..I was frustrated in 2 minutes b/c I kept thinking I was hitting one key and I was hitting another' I took the curve.
later I was at my cousins and she had just gotten the storm the day before. I played with hers for a while. I was so frustrated I wanted to throw it. I will admit the screen is bigger and it looks pretty cool but I'm glad I saved $100 and took the curve.

that is a very good question and since I'm completely challenged, I'm not sure. so far honestly I've only been on Facebook and it's mobile. No wait, I just went on LIW and it's the full page. Sorry, i'm really useless.

lol.....you are not useless thanks for the feedback....i have a touch screen phone now but it also has a real keyboard, but i was fine playing with the the storm....i just hate the mobile version of most websites and want a true html browser and i was just hearing alot of mixed reviews, so didnt want to waste my 100 bucks on it when the curve would be free for me.... i think i am useless or at least very indecisive

Oh well I'm useless AND indecisive. I've been going back and forth with this since I started taking the LIRR on 12/8, just finally bought one this weekend. I figured if the two Verizon sales guys who would like to sell me the more expensive one, were telling me to go with the curve, then there must be a reason.
