upset-need to vent
I recently got my wedding video back, and after watching it a couple of times, I get upset at my new in-laws. Their behavior at the wedding was over the top-not in a horrible way- but in little things. For example, as I was walking down the aisle, my husband's grandma LAID DOWN on the steps leading up to the chuppa. The reason- 'I couldn't see'. The look on my face went from concern to confusion to 'what the hell is she doing!'. I get upset every time I watch it. His mom kept waving at her friends during serious times during the wedding. His sister refused to dance with me during the first dance set because she didn't like the music. I know its a lot of little things, and his family is different from my family, but I can't help it. Any advice?

I'm sorry, there is always something with the in-laws, but don't be upset, you still look good in your video I'm sure

Well, in the end, did these things ruin your day? I don't think so, at least not in the moment. Try not to concentrate on the annoying things his family did, but pay attention to YOU and your HUSBAND. THAT was what was important that day and that should be your main memory and your main focus when watching the video. The other thing is that you can have those parts taken out of the thing. It would cost you more, but you would be happier I think.

Aw Laurie...I know how much all of this upset you. Your wedding day was SO beautiful though, and everyone had such a wonderful time. I know it's painful to see every time you watch the video. It's going to be hard having it edited out, b/c so much of it is during the processional.Just try to remember what a wonderful day it was overall and try not to let their sillyness and pettiness (on SIL's part) take away from your happiness as you married Adam. Keep in mind that everything that MIL and GMIL did in terms of waving, lying down (&dancing!) was done because of their happiness and excitement.

EDIT IT OUT!I can relate to how you feel! There are many parts in my footage where my new in-laws were outwardly ignoring me. There is one scene where my DH's cousin threw her middle finger in the air. Apparantly, she always does these kinds of things and people laugh at her, so she does it more. She and another BM are seen on the footage CONSTANTLY whispering to each other...at the worst times. At one point, my the nasty BM is actually telling the videographer that he didn't need to film me getting out of the limo and walking into the church.
This girl is being COMPLETELY edited out...it will be like she was never there!
