US Virgin Islands?

Has anyone been to St. Thomas? Is there a lot to do there? Where did you stay? Do they have good all-inclusives? I've never been and could use some help. Thanks

Re: US Virgin Islands?

I havent been to St. Thomas, sorry! But, I've been to St. Croix (British VI I believe) and it was amazing! There was plenty to do and it is very beautiful!

My *fave* Caribbean destination is Turks and Caicos. We stayed at the Royal West Indies...which was reasonably priced and located in a great spot RIGHT on the beach... you could literally walk on the beach to get to other hotels/restaurants instead of taking the street/sidewalk/taxi

Re: US Virgin Islands?

St thomas is phenom! Went there the 1st week in january every year with my family and another family for a bunch of years in my early 20 s. Me, my sis and their 2 daughters would party like spring break. Go to duffys love shack. Best place on the island.
its gorgeous tho. I recommend staying on the other side of the island near red hook away from the cruise ships. FM if you need restaurant recs I have several. There are great beaches, water activities. You can take a ferry to st. John

Re: US Virgin Islands?

I stopped there on a cruise and it's GORGEOUS! It's my FAV island down there. My cousin went there to an all inclusive for her honeymoon but I'm not too sure where she stayed. We did a tour around some of the island and it really is just breathtaking!

Re: US Virgin Islands?

My dad and step mom went their on their honeymoon 30 years ago... fell in love and bought property there. I've spend a week nearly every year since there... it's one of my Favorite islands!!

Definately stay in the Red Hook area... there is the Wyndham Sugar Bay there.. it does have All Inclusive packages available... (I wouldn't recommend it - unless you plan to not leave the resort.... there are so many amazing restaurants on the island!).

I'd definately recommend renting a car - it'll be the cheapest way to get around, and its fun driving on the left!

Fantastic Beaches... Megans Bay is amazing, but can get a bit crowed when the ships are in... Coki beach is fun, and you can snorkel there and feed the fish... (its right next to Coral World Aquarium). Sapphire Beach is nice for snorkeling too.

St. John is definately worth the ferry ride...you can bring your car over too and explore... Head over to Trunk Bay...gorgeous!

Ok.. getting carried away here.. FM me if you want any more info (restaurants etc too!).

Re: US Virgin Islands?

DH & I are going to St. Thomas in June, to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. We hadn't planned on it but then a friend posted pictures on facebook & it looks absolutely amazing.

We are staying at Wyndham Sugar Bay. We chose the all-inclusive package because I felt it was a great deal. For a bay view we paid $2,000.00 for 5 nights. I have heard that their are amazing restaurants to eat at but felt the price was too good to pass up. We are flying out of JFK & for the two of us, round trip, we paid $880.
