Verdi's of Westbury ??? Opinions please !

We're looking to have a big birthday bash for my mom. and since we had my dads at Verdi's of Whitestone, I thought it would be cute to have moms at the other Verdi's, so at least some of us LIers wont have to travel as far =) (and since of course our requirements are that it's an ITALIAN place picky eater-italians. ) and we LOVED the party at the last one.

HAs anyone been to Verdi's in Westbury ?
How was the food?Service?

thanks

i went there several times in high school for school-related events. the decor is a bit dated. they changed the outside/parking lot area but i believe the inside looks the same. i don't remember being impressed with the food, but it was a long time ago. i think there are many italian restaurants with wonderful food in the area that might be more like what you're looking for.

This used to be GiGi's not too long ago. I've never been inside but the decor from the outside does seem a bit dated. The food/service is most important though and I can't comment on either!

There are a ton of places for Italian though - what about Cafe Baci's? That's right down the road with delicious Italian food. There's no private room though if you wanted one....

Anna - From one Italian family to another....my family has hosted numerous parties at Verdi's - birthday bashes, golden anniversary bashes (although back when it was GiGi's). We have always had great times there - the food is very good, and the decor is not bad. The only thing I dislike is that there's a lot of mirrors....but the important thing is that it's very clean!
One of my very dear friends had her wedding there and it was a very nice affair.

HTH!

Thanks for the input girls !

Claud -LOL about alot of mirrors. Some Italians like that glitzy stuff

Im sure there are tons of sit-down type restaurants that are excellent, but I like to have a dance floor and DJ if we're going to spend a certain amount

I'll be checking them out this weekend.
