Re: Victoria Beckham

Hola everybody! I'll just say I'm not a fan of her look. Not to single her out, there are a lot of Celebrities whose look just doe sn't do it for me.

While I find her neither inspiring nor interesting, i don't think she has an eating disorder, i just think its a personal choice. Some people are more comfortable at a certain weight, and it works the opposite way too. (i.e. some people work to keep their weight 'up' because they like how they look/feel). In Posh's case I've decided its a combination of low caloric intake and regular romps in the hay with the hotness that is Becks.
I doubt she even has a personal trainer...

But calling someone a 'skinny biotch' is just wrong too, isn't that the EXACT same thing as calling someone else a 'fatty'?

Happy to say i no longer suffer the delusion that thinner is better; in my case it ain't necessarily so as the song says. I've been too thin, too fat and everything in between and ultimately my body's happy at around 150lbs, and at 5'8' i'm really ok with that. ALso don't give a d*mn what size my clothes are; my closet has everything from 8's to 14's, so that's truly an arbitrary measure.

Talk to me in 6 months after bambino arrives though, i'll probably be stalking Posh to steal her prawns...

I think she looks great... She's a thin woman... big deal.

You have to remember, it's not like she's on some MIRACLE diet... She probably has chefs preparing her food... she probably has a personal trainer.

I think alot of people forget that celebrities have access ($$) to alot of things us normal people don't...

I can't STAND the eat a sandwich line... SOME people are just thin. AND some people like looking thin, just like others like voluptuous curves..

Caroline though I agree some peopel ARE naturally thin and never said otherwise because hello I AM naturally thin, there is thin and then there is the girl ADMITTING she does not eat. If you're sensitive to the sandwich line thats more of a personal feeling, but please do not take it out me when she ADMITS HERSELF she wont eat mroe than a little salad, much less a sandwich.

It was an attempt at humor. Perhaps some people are more sensitive to it than tohers but it wasn't meant to be offensive. if you took it the wrong way I apologize.

My comment wasn't meant to be directed at you... I saw the sandwich comment & didn't know WHO it was coming from.. so don't apologize, you know I'm not easily offended.

I just can't stand the statement.

it seems like anytime someone is thin... thinNER people are so quick to say: 'eat a sandwich'

she doesn't starve herself... she eats...she just doesn't OVER eat.. she doesn't break down and eat candy or cake, and you know what? Neither do I...

I'm not a big eater... and *most* of the time I eat healthy.. some people don't have big appetites but get enough nutrients in their bodies to STAY healthy.

but this thread isn't about me, so I'm not going to get into it.

I think she looks great. Her head is alittle bobble headish, but she's proportioned..

Though I do agree that the OP should be looking at people who have to work to keep themselves healthy and not people who are already thin to begin with...

I eat healthy ALL the time, and at 6' tall and 148 lbs, I'm considered thin? I eat and eat and eat, but I workout, and believe me you, NO ONE,NOR ANY CHEF pepares my food for me. I guess it's what you make of yourself, and the confidence you want to have for YOU!!! This weight issue thing has gone extremely out of hand. You are what you are,and it is what is.

that wasn't my point. I mentioned the personal chef b/c the OP wanted to know 'what miracle diet victoria beckham was on to stay so thin...'

I was pointing out that she's probably NOT on some miracle diet.. she has access to resources that ALOT of us don't have.. I'm not saying people CAN'T cook themselves healthy (and tasty) foods... Or can't work out hard...

i'm just saying SHE probably doesn't have to work hard to do it... And not HER sepcifically but celebrities in general. They probably have top of the line trainers, and chefs etc etc...

Point taken!

i agree, maybe consider a healthier thinspiration.

btw, just to address what a few have said about some people just being naturally this thin so get over it...thats true! but its not for her, she has spoken many many times on tv and interviews (and i have seen pictures) talking about how she has always struggled with her weight. she was not always rail thin. she was average to curvy before. she clearly has had to very restrictive to maintain this.

Yes but while we are looking at her saying she has an eating disorder there are those of us who ARE naturally that thin that get put in that group of 'people with eating disorders' and dont have one and never have. That is all, when talk is generally about people being too skinny any skinny person who has had numerous people say to them they are too skinny and need to eat will be offended by it.

Its a general thing-we dont sit here and rant and rave about people being extremely obese->why is that? b/c its rude...so lets switch up the topic and talk about skinny people.

This isnt directed at you I am just saying that we stay away from certain topics b/c they are considered tacky and inconsiderate yet this one comes up constantly

I often find that those that claim people to be 'too thin' often have their own body issues they need to deal with first. They'd rather put someone down for being 'too thin' than to own up to being 10,15,50 lbs over what they'd like. Just my personal experience.

We don't know PB's true story, all of Hollywood claims to diet, so she may be saying she does when truly she doesn't. Who knows. This is why people in Hollywood shouldn't be one's inspiration.

Find a family member that you look up to or inspire to be. Atleast you have a better chance of knowing what is REALLY going on in their life. For example, I look up to my aunt. She has had 4 kids and has gotten herself back to a comfortable weight in a healthy fashion.

Again, it all comes back to my feelings about Hollywood. Who are we to judge? We do not know the whole story. Enjoy their life if you must, but don't be the first to rip someone apart.

flame away..

peg- i can see every point you made. but i don't think anything i said had anything to do with your response though.

people essentially wrote that some ppl are naturally thin and leave them alone (i agree) but it was also implied that posh is one of those people. all i was saying is that she herself has said that isnt so and that she has really struggled with her weight. thats all.
