Okay ladies...Here goes... Our videographer left our reception early. He was supposed to stay for the whole reception and he left eary. We were so pissed, me especially because I wanted to put the most money into our video. Needless to say, he left early, and missed most importantly our last dance. I was so upset, because DH and I actually did a little spin off of DIrty Dancing (my favorite movie of all time). It's not on the DVD along with a few other important dances. The owners have been very accomodating with us, but we are still pissed off. I finally got to pick up the video, assuming they would compensate for our loss. They did but only 200.00. After we paid over 2,000.00. Dh is really pissed off, and thinks they should give us more. I told them that today. But that is what they are willing to give us. What would you do. I did take the video already, b/c I wanted to see how they did. Please give me your advice... What would you do in this situation. Yes... it said in our contract...FULL Coverage of REception. I feel no matter what you can't put a price on what was missed, so I feel I can't ask for a certain amount back. DH feels we should get more... What do you think?

Re: Video problem...What would you do?
well, I can't tell you what to do, but I can tell you what I did! I had a similar situation. I posted my entire review, including my vendor, giving them a D- (all my other vendors had As and Bs). I cut and pasted the full wedding review, bolding his review, and sent it to him along with the circulation of this site (I made up the numbers) and also told him that I gave the same review on The Knot, The Wedding Channel, and Brides.com. He begged me not to do it.....these vendors know that reputation is everything, and these boards are crucial to their business. What I did may sound mean, but what he did is worse....he really stiffed us and took advantage of us.

Thank you so much... I didn't start my review yet, but I was definitely going to give them a low grade... Thanks again!

Re: Video problem...What would you do?
My videographer came late in the middle of the ceremony and didnt call. He was supposed to be at my moms house to video me getting ready and leaving the house and arriving. Then he had to leave during the reception and had his partner tape. Well he used my dads camcorder and cut in the beginning, used pics from our photographer for me getting ready, and then when his parter started taping it is all blurry. I was dissapointed and he Refunded all of our money back. My mom thought that wasnt enough, but I think we are going to leave it at that. Remember that your vendors have insurance for a reason and if you feel that you deserve even at least half of your money back because of breach of contract you should get it. I would maybe write a letter so that you have written proof that you informed him about it and gave him a chance again to make things right and then if they still refuse then maybe take them to either small claims to include your fees for court, or get a lawyer to do it and charge them for fees as well. Make sure you read your contract and see exactly what you should of gotten and what you got. Also, as an idea. You can do what my videographer did and put in the pics at the end to music with effects so that you can have the part he missed in the video. Hope this helps!!
