Want to go to the Bahamas

We've been talking about going to the Bahamas, but not sure where to stay and I heard it is an expensive trip.

Has anyone been and where did you stay and about how much did it cost you?

We stayed at the Wyndham, it's a huge hotel. And they have their own casino. Pool is great, they have a pool DJ and a swim up bar, lots of fun. It's right next door the Radisson which is also nice, they're connected.

Food is VERY expensive down there. My advice would be to get the meal plan that the hotel offers. It isn't all inclusive, I think you just pick a certain amount of meals, or maybe breakfast and lunch, something like that.....I don't remember exactly, but it helped greatly....we then went out for dinner to different hotels and restaurants.

Atlantis is beautiful but TONS of kids running around. If it's in your budget and you dont' mind all the kids, then go for it.

ETA: We did the whole trip on Priceline, (we were time flexible when we went) so we got a great deal, but I don't think the Wyndham is that expensive anyway.

Yea totally depends...i stayed at the holiday inn all inclusive in the bahamas which is down the road from atlantis and much much cheaper...and it was horrible compared to what the atlantis had to offer.

If you go, don't stay at the holiday inn all inclusive!

I really think the cost depends on what sort of flight you can get and what time of year you go...

Do you know when the cheapest time to go is? We can pretty much go anytime next year. What month would you suggest?

Yea totally depends...i stayed at the holiday inn all inclusive in the bahamas which is down the road from atlantis and much much cheaper...and it was horrible compared to what the atlantis had to offer.

If you go, don't stay at the holiday inn all inclusive!

I would love to stay at Altantis, but don't really want to be around kids especially if we are going to spend that kind of money.

What month did you go? We will definitely look into the Wyndham since you had a good experience there.

Did you consider Mexico? DH and I yesterday booked a trip to riveria maya for next month and it was like half the price of going in the winter. I would asumme it's cheaper in the summer

We stayed at Sandals. It was gorgeous and we had the best time.
Def look into that. No Kids!

Don't go in February...we made that mistake-it was cold.

If you are going to go all out, I loved Atlantis-it is incredible!

We went in July. It was for a wedding on July 4th weekend a couple of years ago.

i highly recommend sandals.. it may be a bit more $$ but its totally worth it... EVERYTHING including alcohol is included. the rooms are so pretty.. you dont need any $ unless its for spending cash..check it out!

i wouldnt recommend breezes.. its tied to sandals.. but theres kids and the food is not so good i also hear they are doing reconstruction so its a bit of a mess.. but it is quite a bit cheaper!
