Okay I am the MOST emotional person in the world. I am one of those :planned my wedding from the womb: type of brides. I planned entirely by myself. I had my share of stress, and a few hiccups but nothing too drastic dyring the planning.
I get sad after holidays like Christmas or my birthday because I can't believe its all over. I got depressed after my COUSIN'S wedding because it all went by so fast.
My wedding day was perfection and (cliche alert) the best day of my life.
BUT
I am so glad it is over. It has been about two months and I am ecstatic that it is over!! I am actually worried that the sadness is going to hit me LATER when I least expect it. . . I have suffered from anxiety/depression before so I am on the look out but honestly I am the happiest I have ever been in my life and I would NOT go back to the planning for a BILLION dollars!!!
Actually, I am SO OVER THE WEDDING that I can't WAIT to pick up my thank you's - i will seriously have the thank you's, video and albums done before the six month mark because I never want to do anything wedding related again except for ogle my pictures.
I actually feel guilty about this? Did anyone else feel like this? Will it hit me later?

Re: was anyone HAPPY the wedding is over?
Wow Tilde glad is an understatement! I am utterly GIDDY that the planning part is over! I think it means we're happy and well-adjusted, and enjoying TODAY, which is just what I want to do! I have priceless memories and so much gratitude for the day we had!! Now I can move forward not keep looking back I guess!

me me me I am relieved, but a bit sad. It comes in waves but for the most part I'm glad the wedding is over...it was about the marriage for me.

Re: was anyone HAPPY the wedding is over?
I think I'm more sad that it's over than happy it's over. A part of me is glad because I love that we're married now and I love that he's my husband. And I have the wonderful memories of that day which I treasure so much and which will last forever. However, part of me is definitely in wedding withdrawal. For the most part I enjoyed the planning, I didn't find it very stressful most of the time, and I loved all the anticipation in the weeks & months leading up to the wedding... not to mention the day itself was the best day ever! It was a very fun & exciting time in my life, and I really do miss it. So in a way I'm sad that experience is now over.

I am with you on this one. I loved my day, don't get me wrong. But, I definitely am glad to be back in real life. Well, sometimes.
The only thing I am missing is signing the back of the checks...oh, and the dress. I keep playing with my veil and I so want to put the dress back on!

Re: was anyone HAPPY the wedding is over?
For a few weeks after, I felt sad that the wedding day was over & I wanted to do it again. The planning part? NO THANK YOU. It was fun, but it's not something I'd want to do over. Sometimes I still wish I could relive that day because it was just such an amazing & fun day. Honestly though, I am happy not to have the planning stress anymore & I am so happy being married & moving on to the next phase

Re: was anyone HAPPY the wedding is over?
I hated every minute of the planning! A nightmare , I actually resented all my time being taken up every d a m n wknd filled up w/appointments or a to do list. I loved the actual day b/c I knew the planning had finally come to an end.
So much drama to that surrounds weddings
I soo look fwd to other peoples weddings and going as a guest. We had two Immediately following ours and it was nice to relax and enjoy the whole thing.
I love helping other Brides though,.. b/c probably it is not mine. I think I should change careers and go work as a planner

Re: was anyone HAPPY the wedding is over?
DH and I were extremely relieved when the wedding was over. However we reminsce all the time about our wedding and how much we had doing EVERYTHING - from the planning to actually getting married! We loved it all!! We might be rare in that case though. However, we were quite sad when it was all over. I feel like I still have a little Post Wedding Depression. I just loved our wedding and It could possibly hit you a little later when everything is COMPLETELY done and there is nothing else wedding related going on.
