Was I being a brat?

So, I went to the mall on my lunch and i wanted a pretzel. I went to Pretzel Time and order one, paid for it (didn't even take it off the counter) and started looking for the mustard. I didn't see any, so I asked and she said, 'we don't have any'. The only reason I eat soft pretzels is to drown them in mustard. So I said, 'are you sure, I can't eat it without mustard.' with an attitude, she started opening and slamming draws and finally said, 'i don't have any' so i replied with 'i'm sorry, but I don't want it'. She raised her voice and yelled, 'WHY DIDN'T YOU ASK FOR MUSTARD BEFORE YOU BOUGHT THE PRETZEL!?!?!' and i said, 'um... you're a pretzel place... i've never been to one that DIDN'T have mustard.' she opened the register, gave me my money back and waled the pretzel into the garbage (it was hard enough that it made the garbage wobble), then as I walked away she called me something in spanish.

I wasn't ever mean to her or rude until she yelled at me.

Was I wrong? should i have ****** it up and kept a $3 pretzel that i was going to throw away?

I'm just so sick of paying for things that aren't up to my standards.

DH and i went out to eat one night and being a former watiress, I ALWAYS leave 20% unless the service was beyond awful. Anyway, we had this girl who totally effed up our order, she never came over except to take our order, and bring the check and when the bill came i figured out 20% and DH said, 'i'm not giving her 20%, she ******, things were wrong... I'll double the tax and that is it'

ever since then, i've been paying more attention to customer service and he's right, why should you pay for something you aren't happy with. we would never leave less than double the tax, but he made me realize that 20% should be earned.


yea I'm a huge sucker and always tip even when tipping isn't warranted. Some biatch butchered my hair a few years ago and was really nasty about it, I came home and cried and STILL tipped her when I should have b!tch slapped her. I try to be more conscience I don't know why I always feel compelled to tip

I'm learning. I get angry at myself now if i over-tip for something i wasn't happy with.

If i effed up at work, my boss wouldn't give me extra money...

Ummm no she was being a *****! I mean really...pretzel places should have mustard DUH..i would have eaten it anyway bc I eat everything in sight but you have every right to have sent it back!

Thats like going to McDonalds and them not having ketchup..it wouldnt make sense. Its not ur job to ask if they have mustart prior to purchasing a pretzel...thats something they should have..and she shouldnt get upset if you change ur mind because they dont have any.

Actually I wouldn't have eaten it without mustard either. I don't think that you were being a brat. What was her problem anyway jeez she got that angry over that.

i dont think you were being a brat, that is something common they should have how do you not have it.

I wouldve done the same or if i really wanted it probably would have gone to the food court and gotten mustard from another food stand
