Was just emailing with my friend and discovered something...

She's been married for almost 5 years now and was 'counseling' me through an argument with DH We had a skirmish over time spent with friends vs. time spent together. and it made me start thinking metaphorically...this is so silly...but:

The noisy arguments are like 'creaking' as we settle into our marriage - like a new house creaks as it settles into its foundation!

I know I'm a dork, but it just made such profound sense to me!

Good one Farah! During the homily of our ceremony, the priest compared marriage to building a house; you have to start off with a good foundation, and then build on it. You keep building it up, making it stronger and stronger so that nothing can knock it down, not even the worst storm....
