I’ve wanted to throw up for the past week because we signed all the papers last Wednesday, but since the seller has already moved to Florida we had to wait for her to sign the papers and I was starting to get nervous. Luckily it came back today!
We still have to go through all of the mortgage stuff, but we've already been pre-qualified and pre-committed, so hopefully there’s no problems with that.
Estimated closing date is March 15th – actually it would be cute if it got moved to the 17th since we got engaged on St. Patty’s Day.![]()
I am so excited not to look at any more houses!! We’ve been looking since July!!
The kitchen and one of the bathrooms were just re-done… the rest of the house… not so much. I see a lot of wallpaper removal in my future.![]()

great house, where are you moving too.Trying to get some ideas for the house hunt
It’s in Massapequa!
We looked in so many areas in Nassau (and even a few in Suffolk) and the Massapequa area was the one we liked best for the amount we can afford. My mom is up in Bayville so it’s right near the Seaford Oyster Bay for her, and DH’s family is in West Hempstead so it’s kind of middle ground.

if its OLD wallpaper, it may come off rather easily... but god help you if its fairly new.... I have 1 room that only has a border that was put up sometime in ther last 10 yrs and holy mother of god... it is the most aggravating thing to do in the house

Yeah, actually the basement is what sold us… because the living room/dining room isn’t huge, but it’s big enough if we have like 5 or 6 people over… but then when we want to have bigger parties we’ll have PLENTY of room in the basement!
Also one of the other things I’m most excited about it having a Carvel around the block and being so close to All American… I’m going to gain 50 pounds.

ooooh i Love All American!!!! Five Guys down merrick in amityville is on the top of my list too! there is an awesome bbq joint too smokin al's! I can go on forever about all the fab places to eat over there!

Yes!! SOOOO excited for Smoking Al’s!!! We actually ate there over the summer and I was like “Wow, it’s a good thing we don’t live closer to this place bc I’d be here all the time.” Hello fat pants!!
