we can't go away for our one yr anniv.....

both dh and i have school and both of us have huge projects due the monday of our anniv wekeend....this stinks...

It's lousy when you have your heart set on a certain thing and can't do it

We were counting ourselves lucky that ours fell on a weekend and we got to spend it together. I had already moved to NY (from Boston) to start a new job and was living with DH's grandmother. Our anniversary fell right after we had closed on our house here (on a Friday) so we drove to Boston, finished packing the apartment in preparation for the movers to come on Monday. On Sunday (our anniversary) we took a few hours off to have a nice dinner before returning to pack and clean and then collapsing in exhaustion.

DH and only did a weekend trip to a B&B. I highly recommend it. We had a great time. I understand how you feel, but maybe something like a local B&B on the island you can do?

awww....don't feel bad. i know it sux, we couldn't either though we both were dying to go back to PR

we couldn't bc we bought the house so...we had to sacrifice. maybe you can do a day trip or something?

we didn't even go out to dinner....we decided to save $ and hamburgers and hotdogs by candlelight in the dining room - we never eat in there so it was 'special' lol.....it's what you make of it
