We gave Louie away

We decided to give Louie to our really good friends who will give him a good life and home...one that he he very much deserves.

Him and Bella didnt get along...but on top of that he has a heart murmur and he has intestinal parasites The vet said theyre contagious to other dogs and humans too. He will also eventually need surgery on his heart. It was just too much for us to handle financially and emotionally wise...seeing worms coming out of him every mornining didnt help (sorry TMI). DH feels horrible for bringing him home and apologized a million times.

I miss him so much
But atleast hes going to an amazing home...thats the only thing that makes me feel better...but i feel so guilty.

awww---that stinks Milana....BUT at least you were able to give Louie a good home. hey you can even visit him too!

Aww sweetie I know how you feel- we had decided to adopt another cat for Isis but it didnt work- he was anorexic (didnt eat because he was depressed
) and also had a heart murmur (had to bring him in every 6 months for check ups)
you know what i went through last summer loosing two of my babies so I couldnt bare with it so we brought him back in hopes that he will get a better home... I know you are sad right now but trust me it will get easier!!! Im here if you need to talk!!!

Oh no Milana, Im almost glad the boards are slow b/c this thread has the potential for becoming a hot bed of drama. I've seen it on here before with other women who gave away their dogs.

Well I think thats why i feel so guilty, b/c im not one to be irresponsible with animals, i love them more than i love humans and would do anything for them. This was just a really unpleasant situation to be in for me, DH, and my adult dog. I also would sometimes look negatively upon people who would get an animal and then give them up or give them away --I would think how irresponsible of them. Now i know what it feels like to be on the other side.

I refused to bring him to a shelter, if DH and I couldnt find him a good home, we wouldve kept him.

Awwwe yea, I understand Milana, its gonna be okay But you know what....you said you gave him to a good friend of yours, so its not really like your GIVING him away..you will still be connected to him and can go an visit him. And you know for a fact hes gonna have a loving home, so it will all be okay.

lots of hugs Milana!!! Louie is absolutely precious & now you can know that he's going to get the proper care & love he needs right now! AND you've given him to a friend...so you'll get to see him all the time! i know u're feeling down, but know that u did the right thing!!

Awwwww I can imagine how difficult that was for you!!!! But you did the right thing for your family and for Louie!!! You found him a good home with people you know and trust - you didn't just cast him off to some complete stranger. And hopefully this means you and Bella can still see him!

OMG Milana, I had NO IDEA about poor Louie's rough start in life!!! Poor little guy, WHAT WOULD HAVE BECOME OF HIM WITHOUT YOU AND DH?????
You were his FOSTER ANGELS so please let yourself off the hook, you took him in when he needed you most, and made sure he got to a safe and loving place, there is nothing more RESPONSIBLE than that!!!!!

I'm so sorry to hear this...look on the bright side - if you want to see him, you could just call up ur friend & go there....
You know he's in a loving home & that's what matters...
