wedding album & DH question

Last night DH and I fianally sat down and began to go through out wedding pics... creating the NO, Maybe, and YES piles... We got through them all once and then when it came to really examining the Yes and Maybe piles Dh was DONE-ZO! I got about a good 30 mins of his interest before he was totally over it. I'm not mad as I know my DH has a very short attention span. It made me question though...

Were any of your Dh's the same way when it came to choosing pics? Also, if he wasn't interested did you make some final changes and not tell him just to get it completed withouth an arguement or having to nag him?

Dh only looked through about 200 of the pics and said his hands hurt. never picked them up again, lol. So he wants me to narrow down the pics I like and then he will choose from there, LOL!!!MEN!!!!!

Do I really have to answer your question? How do you think my 'we need to pic pics for our album' conversation went?????


Seriously though - I picked the ones I wanted and showed him. Then I asked him if there were any of those he absolutely hated or any others that he absolutely wanted that I left out. He was pretty much fine with all of my choices. He also came to the design appointment with me, so getting the third party (designer's) opinion also helped with his cooperation.


Also a piece of advice - make sure you get him after you feed him a good meal and he's had some time to relax. That was my trick

We haven't yet... lol

We started with making 3 piles, the NO's, Maybe's and Yes's!
Then I counted the Yes's we had about 85 (we get 80 pics) so then I went through and found we had a few that were almost doubles so I chose the best of those... that brought me to about 78, then I examined them further and removed like 3 more... then went through the maybe's and found some NO's out of those that we had let slip in... so we have space in our album still but I have to go through the maybe's a fe more times and decide what we want...

lol... yea it's a process... I don't think we need them in order of which we like them that is left up to the designers. I HOPE!

Wait, are you making piles with just the printed pics or are you using the one's on the other cd as well?

right now.. just the printed pics. Duet is editing a few more for me that I am waiting on before I make any final decisions.

Also they told me if I choose from the unedited cd the album editors will probably edit those too. then I can say, I want such a such picture in color, or B&W... etc. then we go back and forth with that process.

Um, my DH hasnt even looked at our pictures .. he wants no part of choosing the album. He says he's done with all the wedding stuff and lets move on to our lives now.

Hope he likes the album Im choosing.. then again - he may not ever look at it anyway ..

DH involvement starts and ends with making sure that the photos are all in the right format, size and resolution. he also retouched A LOT of the pix I loved but the photog didnt photoshop
as me and him are both WAY too opinionated to pointed of insanity I prefer no input from him whatsoever. otherwise all hell breaks lose.
I started making our epix album and I just show him how I arrange the pix and he tries to be nice and have as little criticism as possible (its very hard.....)

I don't think DH has ever even looked through all our wedding photos. I mean not even all of the edited ones. I sat down with him the day we got them and about halfway through he just said enough. I don't care what pictures he wants in there, I know he won't help.

Our photographer had our proofs posted on the website within two days of our wedding. While in Hawaii on our honeymoon DH & I would spend a half hour a day using our IPhones to look at the 1600 pictures. I grapped a piece of paper & every time we both agreed we really liked a picture I wrote it down.
When I came to picking pictures for the album, I used that list & choose all the others by myself while at work. I didn't even ask DH's opinion. I wanted the album in hand by the first weekend of August so thats what it did. Had I waited until DH was ready we would still be waiting for our album.

As for the TY card picture I forced him to help me pick that one.

DH was very interested in looking at the pics... and then I put together what I wanted for our book and he was like - go for it, I trust you.
