It is a long process, but well worth it. We got calls from people who saw it, as well as congratulations letters from local politicians and my college. Our parents got a few phone calls and letters too.
First you have to call Newsday and get the address on where to mail your self-addressed, stamped envelope. They will send you a form in the envelope you provide.
Once we completed the form and mailed it in, they called to verify the information and to tell me the print date and what editions we would be in. We were in both the Nassau and Suffolk editions, since we grew up in one county and live in the other.
It took four months for them to get us in. Good luck!

For some reason it toook no time for us.
I lamented like 10 copies and my DH framed one. It was well worth it.

Took us 4 months as well...depends on how many that get in...they do them in wedding date order from when they get them in.

We got married in august and sent it in in sept. but havent gotten a call, I've seen wedding dates of people in there after august, i hope i didnt miss any info. And it's too late to send a nother one, it needs to be 90 days of the ceremony and its almost 5 months

I was the latest bride ever! The timing doesn't matter. We got married in March and I sent it in September.
It took two months for them to call to verify the information.

We were married July 4th.
Submitted it the end of August.
They called us late November.
Announcement appeared Dec 12, 2005

Oh thanks for the info! I just sent mine info into them this week and was wondering if they would call or send a letter to let me know that we would be in it and when.

It was very easy. I called filled out a form paid the fee. I had the announcement run the day after our wedding. You choose your wording and info you want to provide, a little or a lot. They assist. Here is ours. It ran 8/22/04 Sunday edition, Nassau, Suffolk, and NYC.
I submitted in September and got called yesterday, it'll be in on January 29th
That is so odd, I only sent ours in last week and already I also got called yesterday that ours will be in the Jan 29th edition. Guess they don't have that many to work with.

Same here. Mine was mailed in 2 weeks ago and it will appear in Jan 29th edition as well. There must not be many?????
