Wedding Announcement question

We are getting ready to start working on our Thank you cards and I just realized something....

We had a small wedding with just immediate family and a few close friends.
Do we send wedding announcements for our extended family and friends?

I would.

I just found out a friend of mine that was at my wedding and was engaged at the time (we had been talking about her plans etc.) is MARRIED already. I ran across her facebook page and there are pics of her wedding. I can understand not being invited if it was a small affair or something, but not even KNOWING? I thought that was rude. So I would let people know, JMO.

I understand that some people might think 'why wasn't i invited?'

So i want to add something cute to the announcement

'Please understand to keep it small we couldn’t invite one and all.
Although your presents was missed please share in our joy of marital bliss'
