wedding band i'm gonna cry

we went out to dinner tonight and i looked down and was missing a diamond in my wedding band!!! we looked all aroudn and managed to find it under my seat at the restaurant..

now i have to take it to get it fixed. i'm going to a different jeweler b/c I hated the one we bought it from, but i'm so sad that i'm going ot have to part with it!!!!

i want them to check out all the others to make suer that they are set right. i'll even get a new setting if i need to.
does anyone have any idea how much a new setting woudl cost? I have a 1.25 carat 5 diamond wedding band in white gold

im sure the setting is fine. it happens, you dont relize what you hit during the day or what gets caught on the prongs. as for a new settingi wouldnt spend the money. the setting alone can run a few hundred dollars alone now. gold just just $1600 yesterday so its all so much money.

just get it checked every now and then. We have people all the time come in the store and we just check the prongs and tighten if needed.

I lost a diamond in my wedding band the 2nd to last day on our honeymoon and we called the jeweler from st. lucia and he fixed it for free when we came back. sometimes these things just happen we love our jeweler. I was upset that I didn't have my diamond wedding band when I went back to work. but it only took a few days to get fixed.

the fact that you even found the diamond in and of itself is amazing!
i'm sorry you have to part with your ring for a few days, but it shouldn't be much at all to get the ring fixed and inspected to make sure everything is on tight. Although, last year, my E-ring, center stone was a bit loose and i could feel it moving around the prongs. i took it back to the jeweler and he fixed it for free.

I took it today to our families jeweler and not the jeweler DH got it from for the wedding b/c he hated him and only bought it b/c it was a good price.
i'll have it back next wednesday, they did suggest re-setting it at some point in a new mount as it is a 5 stone and there is only one prong holding 2 stones or something like that. would cost about 700 for a similar mount. DH says we can do it within the year, if it makes me more comforable

my finger looks naked without it, crazy it's only been a month and a half and already it's a part of my every dayness
