Wedding dress cleaning....

I've been married over a month now, and I STILL haven't gotten around to getting my dress cleaned.

Any tips/suggestions ladies? What should I do? Where should I go? how much? how long? etc, etc, etc....

Re: Wedding dress cleaning....

I went to a local cleaner and got it boxed so I could shove it in the bottom of the closet! At least I know its safe in there. They did a great job. Just go to a local place that boxes gowns and don't go nuts over it. Someday I want to make a quilt out of it since we wont have children to pass it to or make the baby christening outfit with. Most places do a fine job. Good luck! :)

Re: Wedding dress cleaning....

I'm glad that I'm not the only procrastinator....

I'm going to look into some local cleaners, and see if they can perserve/box it for me as well. If not, then maybe I'll contemplate shipping it, or keeping it hanging in my closet.

Thanks ladies!
:)

Re: Wedding dress cleaning....

Mine has been hanging in my closet. I think I am going to bring it this weekend to get cleaned and boxed. I am going to bring it to my local dry cleaners to get it done.

Re: Wedding dress cleaning....

Hey date buddy!!

I think I posted about this earlier. My mother wisked my dress away from me faster than I don't know what. When I came back from the honeymoon she told me to go pick it up at the cleaners. It cost her $120. I know there are less expensive places out there.

My friend has been married over a year and she still has not had her dress preserved.

Re: Wedding dress cleaning....

I took care of that right away, I can't stand lingering errands lying around the house! I used a local cleaners and they did it for $140 with my head piece. It's ready, it takes awhile, I just have to pick it up now.
