Wedding Related Question ! Candy Boxes ! HELP!

My best friends wedding is in 4 weeks.
She would like to have candy boxes on the tables (one per person).
She already has the jordan almonds in the tulle, attached to her favors, so she wants to do something different inside the candy boxes.

Her options are:
Pillow mints in pink (color of our dresses)
White Lifesaver mints? (She thinks this might not be as classy? Why do you guys think?)

The box is the size of... lets say it will fit in the palm of your hand. (I'll post pics later on)

So I have a question:

Any other ideas on what she can put inside the box to 'fill it up'. She doesnt want 3 pillow mints in this 'huge' little box jingling around and she doesnt want to overdo the jordan almonds...

She thought of maybe wrapping the mints in tulle and then putting that in the box, so that the fluffiness fill it up a bit.. but I felt it would be a waste of precious tulle, which is so pretty, so be put into a box.

Then I thought of maybe little 'fortunes' like the Baci chocolates have. We can print out cute sayings, cut them out and put one into each box, but that wouldnt 'fill' anything, thats just an idea...

Feedback? Suggestions?

Thanks!!!

I did the truffles and everyone loved them-- you can get them pretty cheap thru distributors and they come in different flavors/colors---

Re: Wedding Related Question ! Candy Boxes ! HELP!

thanks for all the suggestions guys!

Erica I didnt know you can make your own m&ms!

Lindt is a good idea too..

Now on the topic of chocolate, she was worried about it melting. The wedding is in July.

She can store them in her basement to keep them cool. Did anyone have problems with chocolates melting in the summer heat? (just wanna ease her mind )

Re: Wedding Related Question ! Candy Boxes ! HELP!

While I LOVE those lindt chocolates, I've found them to melt very easily. Maybe not the best idea in July. I do think most other chocolates would be fine though. If you're trying to find something not melty, what about those chocolate mints:

If she is having a beach theme, salt water taffy would work.

Bulkfoods also has something called cinnamon balls that are kind of pinkish.

I'll try to think of something else.

Re: Wedding Related Question ! Candy Boxes ! HELP!

Anna, when I was at Michael's last night, they had pastel colored chocolate mints that are shaped like chocolate chips, and have white sprinkles on them, like nonpareils.

Re: Wedding Related Question ! Candy Boxes ! HELP!

If you store them in a cool house (A/C)...we had our placecards with chocolates made from denmark...and they got stuck in customs on 7/4 (the big heatwave last year) and they melted in their wrappers (and the customs people riffled their dirty hands through it and made a mess...and broke some of the dried flowers that were on them )

so I guess melting is a possibility...

we went to a wedding last June and the favors were chocolates...and they were fine...
