Re: Weddings are never Perfect!
I went to a wedding where the power went out like that! People just started getting MORE drunk, they had a dj so no music but a BM went and got a battery powered boom box so we were dancing to the radio....it was actually really fun!

Re: Weddings are never Perfect!
2 of the best weddings I ever went to:
#1 - my college friends Jay & Sandy were getting married at the RH (Atlantica, actually). Ceremony was to be at 11:15. At 12:00, the officiant still hadn't shown. So the maitre'd 'married' them while the owner called every church in town. 90 minutes into the reception, a local priest came by & we did the ceremony all over again. It was hilarious.
#2 - my cousin Lauren at CLM. Night before her wedding, the florist burnt down to the ground. Local florists all pitched in together to get flowers made for her. Every BM had a diff bouquet b/c they were from difff places. they looked beautiful. Then when we were about to leave for the church, the groom calls me & tell me to stall. The priest had a heart attack while doing the funeral right before their wedding. Another priest steps in. Lauren goes to walk down the aisle, turns to her dad & said 'um, who is that guy?' Get to the reception, and the DJ had sent someone else in his place. And this new guy decided to serenade the crowd to karaoke Sinatra during dinner. Effing hysterical wedding.

I think its good that there's some imperfections as long as you can make light of it!!! it makes it more memorable in a way!

Re: Weddings are never Perfect!
SUCH a cute but SO TRUE article!! a lot of brides need to read this! lol... good call by the bm's with the candles...the church I got married in actually told me they had an incident where the power went out - but that it was the most beautiful ceremony 'cause they just put candles everywhere
i do have to say, this quote couldn't be more true!! 'If people spent as much time on their marriages as they do planning their wedding, the divorce rate would be much lower.'

Re: Weddings are never Perfect!
as i said in my goodbye post on here a few days before my wedding......
the second coming of CHRIST himself could have happened---and i would have gotten married no matter WHAT that day. i would have said 'yo--you got easter & christmas---pop off'
lol -- besides death...lol i doubt anything would have stopped me from marrying my DH!
