We're leaving for Fayetteville in 1 hour!

DH and I, along with 2 of our close friends who also arre building a house in Fayetteville, booked a trip to go up and check on the progress of the houses this weekend.

We were soooooo excited....we planned to go out drinking one night, etc. etc.

Wellllll our friends dropped a bomb on us last night. They're buying a puppy while we're up there Mind you....we're taking OUR truck up. So now, we're going to have a 13 week old puppy riding around in the back seat of our truck for 8 HOURS. And they have to leave her in the hotel bathroom all day saturday while we meet with our realtor and builder (totally against hotel policy...but whatever) I'm sure the bathroom will be a royal mess by the time we get back.

Oh well. I'm still looking forward to going for the house's sake. But im totally disappointed that they didnt talk to us about this first. Considering we're sharing a hotel room and taking one car up (which isnt theirs), it would have been nice if they ASKED first. I think DH and I will have to go out Saturday night alone and make the best of it.

Aww sorry they didnt think to call you first. That kinda ***** but if they're good friends of yours, they probably just assumed it would be ok because you love them. Don't take it personal because it will ruin a fun weekend.

Just try to puppy proof what you can and have a good time!

Haha..yes I've already packed an entire bottle of Resolve Carpet Cleaner for the backseat of the car!

DH isnt too keen on the idea, but its a puppy...so im sure even though it's a bit annoying that they didnt ask us first, we'll be too busy playing with the cutie to care tomorrow.

Get a bottle of Nature's Miracle...it's made for puppies 'messes'...DH i and i took our dog to Newport for the weekemd when he was a pup...and he peed ON the bed and other various places...it was a lifesaver! I'm sure once you see that adorable pup you won't be mad any longer!

That was a bit rude of them. Not only will it be in the car but also in the hotel room. They should have asked. I'm sure the idea of it is far more annoying than the actual puppy. Once you see it you won't be annoyed anymore.

I would line the backseat with a black bin bag or a shower curtain liner. Also see about picking up a flat sheet if you are worried about your car seats. The dog may be in the cage though so it won't be a problem.

The flat sheet is a good idea. You can put the black liner down first and then the sheet over it. as everyone else said, its going to be so dang cute you will love it even if its an inconvenience. Maybe they were just excited and forgot. Still rude, but Im sure there was no malic and you will get PUPPY KISSES! The best kind.

Thats what DH said too. I think the husband just got so excited about the idea of getting a dog that he didnt even think about it being an inconvenience.

Thanks ladies for the ideas...I think we're going to use the shower liner idea for the trunk (its an open trunk....is a Jeep) and then put a blankie over that for her to lay on.

They dont have a crate for it and the breeder isnt providing one. I'm sure it'll all work out.

I'll take some pics of the house!!! Its finally framed so it'll actually look like a house.

OMG im sorry! Its kind of rude of them to do that-especially when its not their car I would put down paper and line the back seat with garbage bags-tell them you dont want puppy poo in your car forever.

I just hope it being cooped up in the bathroom all day doesnt upset it. Puppies are known for attention and affection especially if it is getting to know the new owners and that could down right scare it. I just think it is rude to do that too the poor thing but to each his own. Let us know how it went. Hope it all goes well.
