I drove cross country this summer with a friend (FH had to work...), and I recommend it to EVERYONE!!! It's def worth doing at least once in your life... We drove up to Maine (now my favorite place to visit in the US, tho pretty much tied with Arizona), then drove across the north, camped a lot, drove down the west coast (the Redwoods were AMAZING!), then back across the south. Arizona was amazing, Sedona as much as the Grand Canyon, and I loved New Orleans so much I'm going back for my bachelorette party
I def want to do it again... and if you do it, seriously you need to camp at least 1/2 the way... the night sky in Arizona is unbelievable.
ETA: Haha, oops...sorry didn't realize this was in the Newlyweds chatroom... clicked on the link from jtgarsik's page after she responded to my last post
