Re: WFD? -Whats for dinner
we're having chili. it's very easy to make, but it takes forever because it's cooked in the slow cooker. but it's soooo delicious!
you can also never go wrong w/ chicken cutlets. or tacos. when we need something quick and easy to cook, we always do tacos.

Leftovers-last night I made chicken in a really FAST creamy sauce (I am lactose intolerant so instead of heavy cream I use fat free lactaid and then thicken it with one can of cream of chicken soup-works great and tatses the same) with a touch of lemon and capers and onions-realyl quick and super yummy. let me know if you want the recipe. I served it with instant mashed potatoes.

Easiest pork chops - I buy the boneless ones, lay in baking pan, pour 1 can of Campbell's French Onion Soup over them, plus extra water it calls for... bake at 350 for 30 mins, flip them over, bake 30 more mins... so good.
I usually make that with garlic mashed potatoes or corn, etc..

Re: WFD? -Whats for dinner
Last night I did Turkey Tacos, just do some ground turkey with taco-type spices, and get your fixins!
Tonight: breaded pork chops, I'm thinking some cheesy rice and some asparagus
ETA: for really easy dinners it's all about the marinades!! Get one of those bottles of marinade, you can throw your chicken or pork chops or shrimp or whatever in there, cook it in a skillet on the stove top or on the grill, you can do some easy veggies and rice or pasta--done!

Chili and rice
i am cheating on the chili - use one of those spice bags from McCormick add beans, sauce and chopped meat - cook for a little bit and tada! the rice will be cooking in the rice cooker in the meantime!

Thanks girls great ideas. I wanted to cook tacos or pork chops but I have a major problem. We use turkey meat for tacos, I have no idea how to cook either. Pork chops I know you have to make sure you cook them all the way or you can get really sick. And turkey meat I have no idea how to know if its done. I know how to cook chop meat. I am the wife that does not cook at all!. Very sad.

I'm doing chicken tacos tonight. You really cook turkey or chicken tacos the same as you do regular ones. You brown the meat in a pan, add teh taco seasoning and wala! tacos!

If you're not sure on something like chicken or pork chops, you can always cut into one and just make sure its not pink in the middle... no pink = done!

Well for the turkey, just get the ground turkey---throw it in a pan (I usually throw some pam in there first), add some chili powder, cumin, maybe garlic, whatever you like--or taco seasoning if you have it. Make sure to move it around as it cooks. It will come out in the block so you want to break it up as it goes. It won't turn as dark as beef, but it does still change color as it cooks. Once it's browned it's pretty much good! Drain the grease out and you're good to go!
As for pork chops, I usually just cut them open to tell if they're done, honestly. Kinda like chicken. It definitely depends on how big the chop is how long to cook, but you can do it in a pan on the stove top, just don't put it up too high. I usually do that and cover it, flip it once, and then cut it open when it seems pretty browned on both sides to see if it's done--I am certainly not a master of this art either--it's a guess and check for me
Good luck! HTH!!

Re: WFD? -Whats for dinner
another quick and easy recipe..chicken teriyaki
cut up thin chicken breasts into strips..cook them in a pan with a lil oil, add 1/2 cup soy cause and 1/4 cup sugar to the pan with the chicken-stir to make sure sugar is dissolved then simmer. In another pot, cook veggies..you can add w/e youd like...i usually do broccoli, carrots, mushrooms, corn etc once veggies are cooked add them to the pan with the chicken and sauce..simmer until sauce thickens you can add some cornstarch to it as well to help it along) then serve over rice ( i usually get the kind u pop in the microwave and cooks in 90 seconds)
