What a FRICKIN DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Original post by PeteysBride

It was one of those days..somehow I knew it would be when I started out ym day by getting the mother of all shots; the tetanus shot.

Who really needs a tetanus shot anyway unless they work in a junkyard or among rabid dogs? Apparently I did so i got it and although the nurse was swift and sure and the actual injetcion didn't hurt, my arm SWELLED within 10 minutes to the size of a basketbal.

Did I forget to mention I have been typing one handed all day today?

So I trek back to the office and they give me soemthing for theswelling, telling me its a 'mild reaction.' Yea, I wonder if thats what they told the Elephant Man before his face suffocated him in his sleep.

Anyway I finally get to work and the swelling goes down though the TB shot started giving me a mild fever; 101 degrees all day folks. Unfortunately my office is a mild 85 degrees inside due to management having a thing for thumbing its nose at both society and the weather outside. In the summer I wear entire mountain sheep on my back to keep me warm. In the winter I am Paris Hilton with everything shrunk to fit the Little Person I see on the Shuttle every morning.

Combine inner heat with outer heat and you have Jenn wanting to hide under her desk.

I went out for lunch and that was great> I went to the gym and worked it, all proud of msyelf for sweating out the hot mess and getting one step closer to the HOTNESS.

Singing I walk into the shower and start lathering my hair. Mid soap up, some gremlin decided April should come a bit early being as it was 60 degrees today, and played me for a fool. My singing turned to screeching as I rinshed, conditioned and washed in water colder than a polar bear's butt. But at least it helped the swelling in my arm completely go away.

Teeth chattering I walked out, determined not to let the day lick me. So I shuffled back to work and continued my day, which was not an easy task beign as my supervisor gave me IMPOSSIBLE work to do. I tell my co-worker all the time that she has it in for me but she never believed it till she saw what i was trying to do lmao. Her exact words were 'WHAT? Does she want you to fail?'

Answer is.. YEP for $200.

It was an index for all these hard copies of articles we have accumulated over 10 years, but she gave me NO directions as usual and when i tried to get a clearer answer, I thought the skin was going to melt off of her face. I felt very Anne Hathaway in The Devil Wears Prada.Mind you, my co-worker went to secretarial school just like my boss, and she went more recently than my boss did and SHE didn't know how to do it....

Then if thats not bad enough, the witch reminded me I should lock my purse in the drwwer and not leave it on the floor (under MY feet) because SHE might trip on it...What are YOU doing at MY desk lady?

So I do and that part of the story is forgotten for now..but we will remember it later..oh will we..

So I end up elaving work at 5:15 because a meeting of big mouth and bigger ego men decided to chit chat and as I have contol of the restroom keys, I have to make sure everyone leaves before I can. If they need potty breaks, I must stay. So I stay, get my @ss goggled and my ego sleazily stroked by guys who would like nothing more than for me tobe their girl Friday. But I was a good citizen for the sake of one of my bosses, because the man has always been a gentleman to me and I wnated him to look good. He did and thanked me for making the company look good.

So feeling pretty good bout myself I pee and finally leave. I talk to DH ALL the way to the bus depot, because I decided to walk instead of taking the S since it was a nice night. Only when I get there and attempted to pay for my dinner (a YUMMY salad) did I realize....

Yep ya guessed it..the purse that should have tripped my supervisor and snapped her neck or at least put her into traction so she couldnt make me forget it. Out of sight was definetly out of mind today.

Soo...Lets do the math...I work on 45th and Park Avenue. The Port Authority terminals I need are on 40 and 8th Avenue....

Park, Madison, Fifth, Broadway, Sixth, Seventh, Eight....SIX avenues which are about 2 blocks per avenue+5 extra blocks....

LONG walk. I had to turn around after the poor girl allowed me to take my dinner home for free (she knows I will pay her tomorrow because Im there all the time) and walk ALL THE WAY BACK to work.

From there it was el Cuento del Gran Capitan...LMAO...Its a spanish saying. Literalyl means the Grand Captains Tale. Essentially its sued for any situation that SHOULD be simple but becomes much more complicated than it should be. I became complicated.

First the night guard (who is a douche) was on duty. He didnt wnat to let me in because I had no ID. I explained I had no IDy because it was in my purse in my office. He said OK so lets go to your office and you open the door and show me. I explained I could not open the door becasue my ID was right beside my keys in afore mentioned wayward purse. He asked me if I was being a smartass. I explaind no Si. My *** is not smart. It is simply very tired from a day in Hell that would send Lucifer and his minions to the Alps for a vacation.

He raises his voice, I sigh.He tells me he is calling the building super and I finally applaud him for doing something intelligent. 10 min later, we get one of the door men instead lol..>UGH. That poor man and I went to EVERY FLOOR in our building looking for the cleaning lady. Apaprently there are 10 and NO ONE has a schedule of who they are or what floros they work. So 20 minutes later Id seen the whole builing, met tons of people and spoken to 4 different cleaning ladies who kept pointing us out to the next one.

When i was ready to park it on the secuirty guards desk for the night, the super FINALLY showed up! Got into my office, flashed my ID in Mr. Cranky guards face and kissed everyone else.

My day was otherwise uneventful and I am home now....

Bully for me.

ETA: Forgot to mention I had to walk BACK to the Port Authority again lmao..TOTALLY justified eating that pizza today. Oprah loves walking and stress has to burn some kind of calories.
