Re: what are you girls doing with your
You can make a communion dress for your daughter and then make the bag to collect the cards..

I wound up having it preserved, though I'm not certain it will ever be worn again

I had mine cleaned and boxed... my mother has my christening dress that was made in Spain, so my kids (if/when) will wear it. My dress will prolly stay in the box lol

I am having mine turned into a Christening gown, maybe two if there is enough material. That way my children will use them and then if they would like their children too.

Re: what are you girls doing with your
If you're planning on Christening your children, using your dress to make the outfit is a nice idea.
We're not so I'm going to get the layette for our child(ren)'s bassinett made out of the material from my dress. I had a small bow too so if the first is a girl, it'll go on the layette; if it's a boy, it won't.

I was thinking of having it altered to be a fitted gown or cocktail dress. I'd have to see how much it will run though.

I am not really a sentimental person nor am I a pack rat. I was seriously contemplating donating my dress, but I can’t bear to part with it! I’m going to have it cleaned and preserved.

I dropped it off to be cleaned and preserved the day after the wedding - now I'm wondering if I should consider selling it. Kills me that I can't wear it again!

My dress is still hanging on my bedroom door in the bag that it came in. I'll probably have it cleaned and preserved and then never look at again!
I'd be happy if my daughter wanted to wear it for her wedding, but I'd also understand if she wanted to get her own.

Re: what are you girls doing with your
If I have a girl Im going to make a christening gown..
Maybe a bassinett - god knows my dress was big enough LOL
Maybe a baby blanket for special occasions
My MIL wanted to make a quilt with a little piece of everyones dress in it...
My WHOLE family thinks Im crazy to cut it up. One said I should wear it on my anniversary LOL (I thought that was crazy) and another just wanted me to save if for a possible daughter...
