what are you making for thanksgiving?

I'm in charge of desserts so I made a key lime pie and a pumpkin pie last night and the house smelled so good. I love the holidays! Tonight I take on the battle of the pecan pie and possible a red velvet cake. What are you all making/baking/cooking for thanksgiving?

I have an insanely amazing banana pudding recipe with Nila wafers. It's unbelieveable. Let me now if you want it. Put it in a trifle bowl and it's fantastic!

Re: what are you making for thanksgiving?

cooking 21.5lb turkey with homemade fresh stuffing (just broke up the bread last night) with sasauge and apple.

String beans and corn

Mashed potatoes

Homemade rolls

prepping the salad tonight

But my family is bringing a tray of lasagna, turnips and sweet potatoes.

I wasn't going to make dessert since so many offered to bring a pie but my husband just went out to buy some odds n ends and purchased a pumpkin pie that was $1

Re: what are you making for thanksgiving?

I'm hosting my entire family and my IL's at our apartment tomorrow, but thankfully everyone is cooking and bringing something :)

I'm making:
- spanish rice (arroz con gandules) - two pots
- flan
- cupcakes
- biscuits
- possibly baking chocolate chip cookies
- PURCHASING pumpkin pie

My mom is making:
- 22 lb turkey
- lasagna
- potato salad

MIL is making:
- pernil (pork)

Aunt is making:
- Baked Ziti

SIL is making:
- Stuffing
- Sweet potatos

Grandma is making:
- Not sure yet, but she really wants to cook something so I'm sure she'll bring something super tasty!

Cousin is bringing:
- Beverages
- Apple martini mix

I *think* that's it! That should cover dinner for 24 people

Now to get our place cleaned, organized, and decorated before everyone arrives tomorrow

Re: what are you making for thanksgiving?

RECIPE INGREDIENTS:
Cupcake
Chocolate frosting
3 oval shortbread cookies (we used Keebler Sandies Right Bites Shortbread)
6 to 10 candy corn pieces
White icing
Black decorators' gel
Red fruit leather (we used strawberry Fruit by the Foot)
1. Frost the cupcake, then press in a cookie head and 2 cookie wings.

2. Press in a row or two of candy corn tail feathers.

3. To make an eye, add a small dot of white icing to the head, then add a dot of black decorators' gel for a pupil.

4. For a beak, cut the white tip from a piece of candy corn and press it in place.

5. To make the wattle, cut a 1-inch square of fruit leather. Roll it into a tube and stick it in place over the beak.
