LIF said his stroke was likely due to a neck strain from work.....

I feel so horrible for them. I can't stop thinking about this... it's really hit home. I just keep thinking about the fact that Janet has lost the love of her life.

it has really affected me also- I missed Jake so much yesterday while I was at work- which is strange
it makes you not take what you have for granted

Dan found me last night staring at the engagement picture we have on our wall.
I feel helpless because we can't do anything for Janet and because we don't know if something like this could happen to any of us. I wish that this didn't happen to her.

I know what you mean, Mel. It has really hit home for me. I find myself back at the same bad place I was at last year when John was first diagnosed with cancer. Poor Janet has lost the love of her life. It's so upsetting. I was on the phone telling John about it and I just started crying because I feel so bad for her.

I thought I was the only one feeling this tremendous loss for her. I dont know her, but I find myself crying for her. It seems like just yesterday I was smiling at her beautiful wedding pictures. I even remember thinking, 'Wow, she has to be one of the prettiest brides here!!' She had such a radiant smile and you could tell, it was the happiest day of her life. Because of her, Im now making arrangements to fill out whatever necessary paperwork needs to be done, in case something ever happens to me. We really do take life for granted.

Me neither (can't imagine having to fight with my ILs about this). And DH and I are also talking about this a lot. Even though I lived alone for so many years, I now can't imagine living alone in this house, the house we bought and decorated together. And I can't imagine coming home alone if my DH was in a hospital.
And this really could have been any one of us.
I have faith that Janet will find a way to have a great life, and that her husband wants that for her.

I haven't seen anyone on LIF post what it is.
Just in case you haven't seen it yet, these are the updates:
3/24 - Okay first results are back. Brain activity is at 9.5% and deminishing. Brain stem activity 0%. New tests are being run around 4 or 5 AM. They expect them to be lower.
3/25 - Today may prove to be the most emotional day of all. Ron put two wedding pictures on the update thread.

Lori sent me a link to the update, I had checked it last night but this morning's update and the pictures...especially the one of him dancing...made me cry so much. My heart is broken!
