what did you do with your wedding dress???

Wondering what most people do with their wedding gowns after their wedding? I'm thinking of having mine preserved, but I hear that can cost alot of money. I'm afraid that if I don't preserve it my gown will become yellowed through the years. any ideas &/or suggestions?

I had mine presevered through wedclean.com. It was $100. If it's not preserved, it will turn yellow over the years. My MIL left hers hanging in her closet for 30 years and it's completely yellow.

I'm having mine preserved...it was included when we ordered our tuxes through VIP Tuxedos.

I had mine preserved too. I got it done through my dry cleaner.

Mine is in the cedar closet waiting for me to take it to be preserved. It will be waiting at least a year I guess since I have no intention of taking it anytime soon!

mine was preserved too through VIP...it was included also..

mine is crumpled in the closet. I want to put it one last time before I get it preserved.

I paid 225 to have it cleaned and preserved. So now I have this big box labeled bridal chest

I loved my dress, but I have no use for it...I'm thinking of selling it since it had no alterations.

has anyone ever heard of or used imperial gown restoration? they're located in fairfax county i believe. They were recommended to me by the boutique I purchased my wedding gown from. The quoted me an estimated price of $400, but they have to see the gown before determining the definitive price. Not sure if I should go with them or not. Seems a little expensive and the wedding gown would have to be shipped around. I'd be worried about something happening to my gown which I love so much!!

does anyone know how it's preserved? what do they do to prevent it from discoloring or whatever alterring effects? am i able to do this myself somehow?

Mine is sitting in our spare room, waiting for me to get the motivation to go get it preserved
