I love all my pieces to my everyday set. I think I registered for too many vases. I have three on display already and don't know what to do with the others.

I love my vacuum, works so well!
Also my mini food processor/chopper, I always use it!

What I could have done without?
nothing really!

I registered for way too many glasses - red wine, white wine, martini, everyday, barware etc etc. I have no place to put it and I would need to entertain every weekend to use it all!

I love love love our barbeque grill tools and pasta bowls.

I registered for plates I love but they were too large for my cabinets so I had to bring everything back :(

I love the electric kettle, and the parm cheese grater, and the Riedel makes drinking wine so much better!!

I could live without all the vases and candlesticks, and right now I don't need the spare bowl for the KitchenAid, but I know I will when I have a bigger kitchen

I love most of the stuff I registered for. I love my china, crystal, CK bedding, everyday dishes, my pots and pans, food processor, etc.

What I could live without - I hate to say anything but I registered for a steamer - that looks - and still does - really cool. But the thing is pretty big and cumbersome just to steam broccoli or other veggies - I keep going to take it out of the box to use and then close it back up. I rather steam in a pot with a cover and a little water! Also, I returned the chest for my formal silverware that I registered for. I wound up using the inserts in a drawer in my new china closet.

You know what is kind of cool that I didn't register for was the storage bags for the china to keep it clean when not in use and not on display. I had never heard of it but when I unpacked and set up all my china - I wasn't sure what or where to put the extra pieces - like all the tea cups. I just saw this online at BBB for like $25. I may buy it - less bulky than boxes...seems practical. My MIL and grandma mentioned it to me for the first time when I was putting away my china!

We registered for a coffee maker, an inexpensive one just to have one. It's a waste of space since we are not coffee drinkers. I think we used it 3 times in one year. Thankfully it was the cheapest one we could find in BBB or Fortunoffs so I don't feel bad about one of my shower guests buying it.

Everything else I love - china, crystal, silverwear, decorative items, etc.

I got those storage bags for my mothers china years ago and they are wonderful! The bags are padded and come with foam to put between each piece to protect them and take up virtually no more space then the dishes.

My Kitchenaid stand mixer...THRILLED that I got it.

Could do without...the espresso maker. Totally pointless and takes up space!

I could have done without my cappucino machine. We hardly ever use it

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Hoover Floormate! The wok, I didn't really need that.

I know this sounds dumb but the one thing I get the most use out of is the garlic press -
I haven't used the juicer I registered for yet. I guess it is about time to break it out

Re: What did you register for that you love and what did you register for that you can do without?

Thanks you guys!

I look at things like a waffle maker and think 'Wow, I really like that' and I do, but I know I would use it maybe 3x a year and it would take up more space than it's worth.

Dubliner - what is a Reidel (Sp?) for?

Thanks for mentioning all the diff glasses - I think I'll register for a basic wine glass and let that be that.

I am a total sheet snob - I can't wait to register for really high thread count sheets!

Riedel is a crystal company. We have a few of their glasses and love them.

Things we use the most: our everyday dishes, pasta maker, kitchen aid mixer and cap/espresso machine. Oh, and our KNIVES - love them!

We have so much stuff at my mom's in NY - I'm sure there's stuff in there we could have done without since we haven't even unpacked it (waffle maker included). Though I love my china even though we're not using it yet.

I could have used more picture frames since I returned most of the ones we got since they were Lenox and not my style. I avoided registering for sheets since I don't know if we'll end up with a king or queen when we move back east.

We didn't register for an ice cream maker and ended up buying one (its soooo yummy).

Love: everyday dishes, glasses/bathroom decor/sheets, comforter

Could do without: formal china (can't even display it now)

I loved all my china, pots & pans, and a couple of Nature's Splendor pices I received as well. I have the pitcher & vase, but I could only find a picture of the bowl.

What I could have done without: the duck themed stuff I got for our bathroom (which I didn't register for). They knew I loved ducks, but they just went a little overboard, and when we took it all out it looked like a child's bathroom. So we returned most of it (but I kept the bath rug!)

I love everything I registered for - especially my food processor - but honestly have not used my toaster, Kitchenaid stand mixer and steamer even once! I have no counter space for these things right now and have found much easier alternatives - I make toaster in the broiler part of the stove, I use a fantastic Cuisinart hand mixer that I got which is so much faster to set up and I steam veggies in a colander over a pot of water!

VickiC - I got the same bowl that you posted along with the vase, pitcher, and cake plates. I absolutely LOVE them!! They are displayed in the glass cabinet in my kitchen.
(You have good taste )
