What did you write in no-gifter TY cards?

What did you write in no-gifter TY cards?

I wrote very long personal thank yous to everyone who gave us a gift... but the snarky part of me doesn't want to write such long and elaborate TYs to the few no-gifters. Can you give me some ideas of something short and sweet please?

You girls are harsh. It's better to just thank them for celebrating your special day. Since that is what the day is about, not money.

Thanks for nothing!!

Just kidding...

I haven't done mine yet, but maybe something like, thank you for helping DH and I celebrate our special day!

I quoted you because you were the last to respond, it wasn't all directed to you.

Oh okay, you said 'you girls' & since I was the only person who had written I had thought you meant what I wrote.

Your not, since you are not thanking them for 'their thoughtful gift'.

eta cause I don't know where my response went?

I wrote something like 'thank you for sharing in our celebration'

I wrote something different for each persons cards, or at least with slight variations in every card. got tiring though. You can just indicate that you appreciated them joining you on the most special day of your life & you will remember the part they played in it all

I am not sure I would add I will remember the part you played in it.

and I also have to alittle too..

Look try to keep in mind the day really is about you and DH joining a union as one with having loved ones witness the event sharing in your joy on this day.

However on a side note - IMO - I do feel there should be a sense of etiquette that when showing to an event of any kind esp weddings you give gift or bring a gift..money..something they wanted .. etc..
Try to just take note of the individuals that did this and store it.
They have a year to make it up - so maybe by chance they will still send something.

My feelings are that ty cards should be written alittle different to each person. Alternate like 4 different sayings to what you see fit for the person(s).
The non gift people even get non snarky thank you's but yet a simple Thank you for taking a part in sharing your special day.
Sometimes that simple statement sends a clear message - or it prompts them to send a gift later.
It worked for me. I even sent people who could not attend our wedding a photo card ,and told them they were missed.
Guess what.. We got some gift(s) - money shortly after from those people too.

GL - thanks yous are such a pain.:bang

I wrote long very personal thank yous to all of the gift givers. i think I might wait one more month, and then i guess i'll write just as personal ones to the no-gifters too.

Thank you so much for being a part of our special day. It meant so much to us that you were able to help us celebrate the beginning of our marriage...

Or something to that affect.

The best man (his brother) said he would get us gifts and his sister said she was going to throw us a party. His other sister gave us a large amount of $. It is not just about money, but come on this is your brother. We are starting a life together you knew 1 yr in advance, you couldn't even save $100. ( I am so angry when I think of this). My DH is totally upset with his brother but not his sister. Guess b/c his brother is always bragging about how much $ he has and is always partying.

I completely understand...part of me doesn't want to send a card to the NGs haha...a few weeks back I even posted about non-gifters!!! But the good part of me will prevail I guess lol...What I am writing to one of the non-gifters (OOT) is:

Dear Debbie and Charlie,

It was wonderful to see you both after all this time!Thank you so much for sharing our special day with us. We are so happy that you came all this way to celebrate our wedding!!

love,
Kirsten and Arnold

Personally I think its a bit rude to go to an event like a wedding and not even give a card. I can understand peoples money issues, but go to CVS and get a 3 dollar card. To go with abs. nothing, is just not cool. I am sure people will disagree with me...but its my opinion.

So to answer your ? lol.....I would just say thanks for sharing our day with us. It was nice to have you there...something along that line....
