I was going to write the same question! Our cards say something like, 'Thank you for sharing our special day. Your generousity is appreciated.' I don't want to repeat that!

I wrote this, or a variation, for almost everyone...

Thank you so much for your very generous gift. We're so glad you were able to help us celebrate such an important day in our lives. We hope you enjoyed yourself as much as we did.

In general I wrote: Thank you for blah blah blah, rave about gift a bit. (If it was cash...'it will come in handy as we begin to make our new house a home'. Sometimes I mentioned something specific we were planning to buy.)

Thank you for coming to the wedding - our day was made even more special since we got to spend it with so many of our family and friends - hope you had as much fun as we did - blah blah blah...

I wrote A LOT in each note...I thought it was kind of fun!

they have all kinds of wording it was great that is what I used!!

ours was something like this:

A loving note can barely say
All we felt that magic day
A heartfelt thanks is sent to you
For your thoughtful gift and wishes too.

i bought a book the brides guide to thank you notes - it was a lifesaver just copied out of the book

I wrote three different verses and alternated

1) You brought joy to our day
warmth to our lives
and happiness to our hearts.

Thank you for your generous gift!

2) With sincere appreciation
We both send thanks to you
for your very generous gift
and for your thoughtful wishes, too.

3) Thank you for joining us
as we began our new life together

Dave and I would like to thank you for celebrating our wedding with us and for your generous gift. We have been saving for a down payment on our first home and have added your gift to our special account.

I used verseit.com too and got a nice saying, similar to Erod's.

Then I've been writing personal notes to everyone - my hand hurts!!

That's what I wrote too! If they gave me a gift that wasnt monetary I put what they gave me.

I wrote 'Thank you for sharing our special day and for the generous gift.' Some people, like the bridal party and family we wrote in addition, something personal and 'Thank you for all your help' or 'We hope you had a good time' or 'We enjoyed seeing you' (something to that effect).
