What DIDN'T you have at your shower that you kind of wish you did??

Im planning SIL's shower and want to make it as nice as possible!!!
My shower was really nice and I loved it but I didnt have a wishing well, and I would have loved someone to do some of the more thoughtful things like the towel cake, or the wedding advice vase thingy.
But my sister did have a pic of DH and I passed around for everyone to sign instead of a guest book and I thought that was cute!

you hit the nail on the head! A WISHING WELL!

One of the first things my mom ever said was that she loves showers when they have a wishing well. So, I ASSUMED she would have one for me.

I even registered for all of the single gadgets, instead of the boxed sets because I assumed I would have a wishing well.

NO WISHING WELL FOR ME!

And, to be super anal, no one decorated 'the bride's chair'. It was a white wicker chair, but I wish they would have decorted it a little

I know, I'm such a spoiled brat!

edited to add: and, I wish the girls would have gotten me some little thing 'from the girls'. Whenever I have been a bridesmaid, we always got a gift for the bride 'from the girls'... like a nightie, or a piece of luggage with some travel items in it

I would have loved a recipe box where everyone wrote a favorite recipe down on a card.

I definitely would have liked to get a group gift from 'the girls'. Nothing big or expensive, just something - even a card where they all signed that showed them coming together for something for me.

Other than that I can't really complain because I got the wishing well and I got the recipe box (which I loved).

I have always wanted the recipe card thing...

My MOH wanted to do it, but one of my witchey BMs had somethig to say about EVERYTHING. So, my aunt took over. It was beautiful, but I regret not having the recipe thing

My girls didn't do a group gift either, nor did I get any cute HM stuff or lingerie. Despite all the good stuff I did get, I wound up feeling really disapointed that I didn't get any strictly 'for me' type gifts.

My friends!!!

My mom, sister and MOH decided to only invite 3 people to my shower. I supposely didn't know anyone on the list that Phil gave them.

I must say that my shower was perfect. Personally, I would not want a wishing well or any of the gimmicky things (poems, recipes). Its not my style.

My shower was perfect too.

I had all the works...Wishing well, frilly chair, gifts, flowers, husband walking me in...Signed book from my guests...Everything...It was so wonderful.

(I didn't have a recipe box, but I didn't want that. I can cook better than most of the people that I know, so I didn't think I needed that!)

Oh you're right! I didn't get any lingerie! I was actually a little surprised that I didn't get any...

I feel the same way about a group gift from my girls. Also, I wish my mom & sister would of thought of having a guest book so that all my guests could of wrote something for me & Michael.

I didn't get a group gift, from my bms, but I only had 2, my cousins, so they both went in with their moms , so one set gave me almost all my bakeware & the other all the barware.

I only got lingerie from my mom. That was nice though. One thing was really enough, especailly with Dh's grandma there!

But, I have heard that from other people, they wish they would have gotten lingerie, which surprises me.

I had a guest book, wishing well, decorated cahirrecipe box ( which was funny, b/c my friends can't cook), even one of those cheesy unbrellas.

I didn't have a ribbon hat- I was VERY thankful for that. My MOH & mom knew I wouldn't stand for that, so my MOH & her husband & father me a cute 'bride to be' baseball hat.

The only additional things I can think of are, a bouquet mad eout of wrapping paper & ribbon & my MOH said she's make me a copy of the video , but never did.

I didn't have any games-- I think they are cheesy, but at my friend's shower, they did add a little to the shower so it wasn't all eating & gifts.

Me too! Plus, the candle poem...Something from my MOH that showed more thought other than buying something off my registry. She knows me better than almost anyone, but bought me a cookbook and frame. And she works for KitchenAid and could've gotten any of their stuff 70% off! But I loved everything I got, and everyone was very generous. I do wish instead of gift certs. people gave money. I hate that a gift cert. limits you to one store--I had so much $ for Bed, Bath, and Beyond, but would have loved the cash for the honeymoon or lingerie!

I would have liked a wishing well especially if it was themed like a 'honeymoon' wishing well where you can throw things in for the honeymoon like sun tan lotion, little sun hat, travel items, etc.
