Ashley Alexandra Dupré, the 22-year-old at the center of the N.Y. governor sex scandal, is getting an unexpected boost to her music career.
JJ, a disc jockey for New York's Z100, the most widely listened to radio station in the U.S., and one of the most influential in pop music, played her song 'What We Want' on Thursday.
'Z100 is all about playing what's hot, and we can't think of anything hotter than a song from the woman at the center of a scandal that took down the governor of New York,' says Tom Poleman, SVP of Programming for Z100 New York. 'On top of that, it's a surprisingly good song. Looks like she may have a new career; this time in music.'
Dupré, a New Jersey native, posted the song on her MySpace page and made it available to buy for 16 cents on the music site Amie Street, which prices tracks based on popularity.
Since her identity was revealed, Dupré's MySpace page has had more than 5 million profile views – and growing – as of Thursday and the price of the song on Amie Street was up to 98 cents. A second single, 'Move ya Body,' also selling for 98 cents, had also been added by Dupré.

I think it's just sad in America right now how we glorify and worship idiots with little or no values...if she was a stripper I'd respect her...but she's a hooker...which makes her a criminal...she could've gotten a job at Starbucks but i guess she wouldn't have been able to live the lifestyle she wanted....it seems like no one in America wants to actually work for things anymore....it also saddens me how some of the most popular shows now are 'Reality' TV shows of people with more money than God parading around spending it like it's going out of style....while we ignore the REAL heroes and people who should be getting praise and more money....like our Soldiers, Teachers, Police, Fire etc....the people who actually contribute to society and make a difference daily...... sorry for my soapbox rant...

Re: what do u feel about this?
I guess my reasoning for the apology to his family is that she is trying to gain sympathy for herself to sell her records. If she DIDN'T do that i would say whatever. BUT she is being SOOOO Hypocrtical with sayign 'she's made it through it all' and 'she's had it so hard but she preserveed' and she is essentially I feel, trying to equate ehrself as some kind of role model for young women. And to me thats just like OH HELL No.
Yes he sought her out and as I said originally, he should definetly be heartily prosecuted and he is a disgrace. But she is just as bad because if its her job, fine,. Accept that you're a hooker and keep your head down. But if you're going to put it out there and draw attention to yourself by saying 'yea look at me I have perservered and come so far,' be prepared to have people remind you that no. You are just a ho who is getting five minutes of fame because she got lucky with a big profile client, and do not try to pretend to be someone who deserves an award for 'getting through it all.'
Thats why i think she is just as big of a disgrace. There's no humility in her at all.

Her voice sounds like someone threw a kitten in a fireplace.
Just goes to prove you don't need talent to make it. It's a slap in the face to those of us who actually CAN sing.

I agree with ya Taryn. She never made ONE apology for what she did. I mean come on...she slept her way to the top. LITERALLY. She is talkign about how she made it by working hard and pushign ehrself and its all about HER and not even ONE apology to his family. Yes he was a sleaze but he's also the hopefully former governor of NY. You knew who he was, you knew he had a family. Show a little shame and a little humility.
I she being prosecuted at all?
Why should she apologize to his family? He was the one that solicitied her. Why should she care who he is or what kind of family he has? i dont' agree with prostitution, but it is the likes of Spitzer that are the ones that violate and exploit these girls.... Spitzer is at fault as well as others like him that keep prsotitution in business. is she completely innocent--- NO, but it takes two to tango
