Sorry if this was done if the past, but what do you call your in-laws. This has come up in my circle of friends and worrying if any of you had problems addressing your in-laws.

Dont apologize-we recycle topics all the time because always knew people joining.
I call them by first names nopw-before we were amrried I always said Mrs and mrs so and so. I felt weird with Bob and Linda and still do but I have one mami and one daddy and and thats it.

I didn't call them anything for a long time. I would just speak and hope they listened. Eventually they told me to call them by their first name so i do that but feel funny I think I would prefer to call them Mr & Mrs.

I don't call them anything. I really haven't had to. When I call I say 'Hi. It's Vita'. The only way I think I'd have to address them is if we were in a crowded place or if their back was turned to me and I was trying to get their attention. In that case I would call them mom or dad however I know it will be an adjustment when the time comes. For the most part DH calls my parents Mr. and Mrs. sometimes he'll call my mom, mom. I think my mom gets a little upset becuase it came so naturally for my parents to call their inlaws mom and dad.

definitely first names. Thats what dh calls my parents and thats how I address his. It would be wayyyyyy to weird to call them mom and dad.

by there 1st names, not sure if i can ever call them mom and dad, maybe i could call my fil one day dad but surely not my MIL, she is all honestly is not normal

Me too. If I can avoid calling them anything I don't call them. If I can't I call them Mom and Dad. If my niece is around I call them Nana and Grandpa.

I WOULD call them Mom and Dad - ONLY if DH would call my parents mom and Dad - and he doesnt feel comfortable doing it, so we just continue on a non-name basis.

I am the same way. That is why I asked. Wanted to see if anyone else doesn't address them. DH and I have been together for almost 6 years and I have never once called them anything!

I voted for first names but once I thought about it I realized that I don't call them anything at all, lol.
I do use their first names when speaking of them to family or like if I'm speaking to MIL about FIL, I call him by his first name and vice versa. But yeah, I just speak to them w/o calling them anything. Like Vita, when I call I just say, 'hi its Yesenia!' or sometimes just 'hello' and they know its me
ETA: DH calls my mom 'ma' and has since a year or two before we got married. I think its so cute! He calls my dad and stepdad by their first names.

i call his mother simply 'ma' not mom or mother. I normally say ' hi ma, bye ma' and thats it! i try not to call her ma any other time. i dont feel comfortable.
