What do you think? holiday/TY cards

Hi ladies! I got married in October and haven't sent out TY's yet. I was thinking of combining my TY's and my holiday cards into one...

What do you think???

Is this tacky? DH says it shows a sign of laziness! I don't agree.

Re: What do you think? holiday/TY cards

We didn't do combined. We felt they were two different occasions and also there were plenty of people who wouldn't normally get both cards in our lives.
I don't know if people consider it lazy or not but I was given alot of credit for sending both within a short period of time. Our wedding was 9-27-03 but because we moved to Florida we were delayed on getting our proofs and TY's.

Re: What do you think? holiday/TY cards

I think its okay to do a holiday themed thank you card...but i would put more empahsis on the thank you since the card is really to express your appreciation for your guests time and generousity, etc..

Re: What do you think? holiday/TY cards

I would do 2 separate too...are you doing a picture with your thank you - will yu even have that for holiday card time?

Are you doing Change of Addresses? Because I have seen people incorporate that with the holiday cards or even just insert a we've moved business card into the holiday card...

Re: What do you think? holiday/TY cards

Hi Denise!

I thought about doing change of address with the holiday, but now we're not sure if we're doing change of address anything... UGH! It makes me frustrated because I know I'll be the one writing all of these things out! My hand it hurting just thinking of it!

Can't I just e-mail everyone? hehe!

Re: What do you think? holiday/TY cards

I just wanted to add that if you are sending them both out at the same time, that might be a little weird. So maybe you can stagger them.

Re: What do you think? holiday/TY cards

Lauren-
I know you've already posted that you're going to do 2 separate cards...

I just wanted to tell you that I got a TY/Holiday card combo from a really good friend of mine, and I thought it was weird.
I'm doing 2 - b/c I don't normally send out holiday cards to everyone that came to the wedding... my hand hurts thinking of it too!
We'll have to have more corona's after to easy the pain

Re: What do you think? holiday/TY cards

You can send them after the New Years - I think I sent mine then...I used the 3 month rule. I tried to get mine all out within 3 months of my wedding. I sent most in mid/late Jan and a few in early Feb...no one complained.

I think you can wait until Jan/Feb to get the TY's out.

Re: What do you think? holiday/TY cards

I'll add that my sister did it...and I didn't like it...but she really didn't write a proper TY (even to her own sister) and we were raised to write TYs...so I think the holiday part got in the way...

Re: What do you think? holiday/TY cards

How funny is John??!!! You know, it would not be unheard of for you to do a photo card of you and john in your new home w/ a holiday border around it...it could say something nice and corny like, 'A beautiful season...a new life together. Happy holidays love John & Lauren' that way all you would have to do is address labels!!! I am all about time management!
