What is our name?

I'm confused.

Prior to the wedding, we were 'Susan and John'

After getting married, are we 'Susan and John Jones'

or

'John and Susan Jones'???

I thought after the marriage, we are 'John and Susan Jones'

my mother once told me you're not supposed to separate the man's name. So it should be 'wife & husband last name'. But I haven't heard that from anywhere else. She could be making it up. lol
We usually go by Rob & Tracy ---- just because it flows better.

it's almost always Tom and Jen

on our answering machine, he says 'You have reached the (lastname) residence.'
