Dressy shoes I mean. ones you wouldnt wear every day like pumps for work.
I never have spent more than $100 dollars on footwear and that was for a pair of knee high boots. I am coupon/sale queen but for my SIL's wedding i cannot find dress shoes I like (that are comfortable) for under 80 bucks.
I have flat feet so i tend to like platforms because they offer better arch support and sturdier heels generally but everythign I LOVE is EXPENSIVE!
I dont wnat to spend a fortune because chances are I will wear them at most 2x-4x a year depending on the events we have. We're not fancy people-more diner folk lol.
Itend to buy clothing in all the same colors so the shoes will probably match whatever I own forever but is it worth buying expensive shoes if they're not worn often?

hmmm, i looooove shoes but i find it very hard to shell out $100+ for shoes i'd wear very seldom. some people will but manolos for $500+ and only wear them for a few special occassions, but i'm not one of those people lol.
i think $80-100 for a very nice pair of dress shoes that you could wear more than a few times would be worth it

I don't think I've ever spent more than $100 either ...
I am very picky when it comes to shoes, I can't really wear heels and if I need a shoe with height, I prefer ones like those you described. So if I found a pair of shoes that were comfortable I would grab them!
If you love them, and can afford the minor splurge (since you won't get a ton of use out of them) .... then you should buy them.

whatever you decide, let me know if i can help with coupons. I have 20%-30% off for stores like loehmann's, off 5th saks, and Neiman Marcus Last call. That will definitely help.

I never used to spend more than 100-150 for dressy shoes- or most shoes for that matter but I have very sensitive feet that they always give me blisters etc...
Now I *sometimes* invest a bit more but make sure they are classic and can be in my closet for a long time. I cant make those purchases too often so I try to pic and choose carefully.
That said, I cant wait to wear my new shoes today- they arrived yesterday and am super psyched cause I was expecting them next week
Def check the sales even on sites like neiman that have great deals if you get lucky!! I like saks off 5th and they have a coupon for 25% off!!

oh yes and my cowboy boots that i wear alll the time, obviously not evening shoes - lol
$350!!! but they are the best pair of boots i have ever had :)

the most i've ever spent on a pair of shoes was $300. they were manolo's, purple satin & black patent leather, and 50% off!!! that's the only reason why i bought them. i've worn them about 3 times and for my bpics. that was a one time splurge because i had the extra $$. other than that, the most i will spend for shoes of any kind is $100. i'll double that for a great pair of black high leather boots.

Maybe I will try macys this weekend and Nordtsrom or Bloomeis which are in the same mall.
I like these from zappos..

The most I ever paid was for a pair of silver Jimmy Choo strappy sandals! I've worn them so much that they paid for themselves!!!

Green ones are 90 which isnt TOO bad BUT..they are nine west and in my experience nine west shoes are shoes I LOVE LOVE to look at but which always kill me to walk in so I am hesitating.

I wish I could say like $800, but right now I can only say like $65. LOL. Thats a splurge for me right now. But hopefully one dayI can splurge on really high end designer ones to wear like 2 times!

You and me both Mel. I WNAT to spend the $$ and on soem things I coudl totally blow it but I geus I dotn see sheos as important as a new graphics program or a weekend away.
Im going to look at the department stores this weekend.
