What is the nicest thing someone has ever done for you?

Honestly some of the nicest things people have done for me as small things- like my sister taking care of my kitten during my HM or my little brother sending me a b-day card he picked out himself.
But if I had to pick ONE thing it would be my X-fiance calling me up and asking me to met him for lunch. When I did, he handed me back the my e-ring and said, 'This has always been and will always be yours. I can't just sell it and I cannot keep it.' He was getting engaged to someone a few weeks later and wanted this matter settled. My at the time boyfriend had forced me to give the ring back, even though my X-fiance and I had decided it was best if I kept it. My at the tme boyfriend was jealous and hated the fact that I had the ring in my dresser. Anyway, my relationship with at the time boyfriend was in a shambles and was hurting me everyday. After that lunch I told my boyfriend that it was over and that I never wanted him around me again. I found the corage to want something better because my X-fiance had always loved me and wanted my happiness. It is because of that day that Scott and I found each other shortly after and are truly happy.

Re: What is the nicest thing someone has ever done for you?

I would have to say that my husband has always been there for me. One day last year before we were married,I was talking to my father on the phone. He said some hurtful things to me as he has always seemed to do in the past and I screamed at him and hung up and was crying my eyes out.
Jimmy(DH) asked me what happened and I told him.He called my brother and told him what happened and asked my brother if he could please talk to my father and tell him what he did because he really hurt his daughter. He told my brother that he wants to talk to my father but that he didn't want to get involved in a family problem since he doesn't really know the man.My brother did talk to my father and since then we have both been getting along better. My husband is always there for me and is such a beautiful person.I am truly blessed to have him in my life!

Re: What is the nicest thing someone has ever done for you?

The nicest thing...
When I was planning my wedding I was having a hell of a time finding a veil to go with my dress.
I e-mailed a bride on weddingchannel.com who was wearing the same dress to ask her about her veil. Her wedding had passed, so she offered to sell her $300 veil to me for $100. She was going to send it, prior to payment, and it I liked it I would send her a check. I always thought that that in itself was a kind and trusting gesture.

When I received the veil there was a small (barely noticeable) tear about a foot up from the edge. I told her about it but mentioned that I loved the veil, it was perfect, and I'd send her the money anyway.

She told me to keep it, she had no use for it anyway and she'd be thrilled if I wore it, as long as I sent her pictures after the day. She wouldn't even take money for the shipping. It was the nicest thing that anyone every did for me during my planning. As we know, almost NOTHING is free when it comes to a weddin. After my wedding, I gave the veil away to another bride on the condition that she hand it over after her wedding, and so on...until the thing can't be worn anymore.

I love that story Susan...

On a day where the world has not been so nice to me...I can only think of this valentine's day...

DH and I decided that we were not going to get each other any gifts (we were moving on VDay and it was just so chaotic getting everything ready for that)...when I got into my car that morning there was a dozen rozes, a 10 pack of kit-kats (my favorite) and the first card I've ever gotten from him...

susan...that is really a nice story. It was very nice of her to just give it to you.

I will have to think hard about this one. I had people do nice things, but nothing like that
