When we FIRST starting dating, I got a notice from the IRS that I owed like $980 because of unemployment (or something, I don't really rememeber) and I was beside myself (I had NO money then) ... he wrote me a check.


ETA: He did not buy me an engagement ring, it was my grandmother's.

He paid for everything on the HM and when I offered him money he said no, that he wanted to treat me.

He bought me a pug. I had wanted one for so long. I always tell him thats my 2nd favorite gift from him. First favorite gift is my engagemnt ring.

My DH is 2 years older than me and we started dating in college, so when he graduated and started working he was able to help me out financially with many things: paying the security deposit on my first apartment, the wedding, etc.

So, monetary things aside, one of the sweetest things he does for me (on an ongoing basis) is gets up early and makes me breakfast and packs my lunch! He is getting his MBA full time so he can sleep in if he wants.

he is taking me to my country for new year's and my grandmothers 80th b-day! I haven't been there since I came in 97!
He found a way for us to get money for tickets and money to spend there, he wants me to see my family because he know how much I miss them.

this is an easy one, something I could probably never 'repay' him for ...

When we were still dating, DH moved from LI to live in Scarsdale with me, because I didn't want to move to LI or Queens (mainly b/c I didn't want to move away from my parents and hated the commute from LI to NYC via LIRR/Penn)

But we couldn't stand being 1.5 hours away from each other and couldn't figure out any other solution. So he made this move, and never complained once - even though his former 15 minute commute to work in Woodbury is now a 1+ drive from Westchester, with an added expense of tolls every day. He left his family and friends, and he even sold his Jeep of less than 1 yr (which he loved) because he needed something that got better gas mileage due to the increase in his commute.

He still never complains at ALL about his commute, and I do know how badly it stinks. He'll never quite realize how much it means to me that he sacrificed so greatly on my behalf. I truly love him for doing so and and one of these days I'll TRY to figure out a way to 'repay' him

I was a little sad about not being able to go home to NY for Christmas one year. I kept complaining about how it wont feel like xmas since we didn't even have a tree. So one day while I was out, he got a tree and decorated it.

We woke up one morning a couple of weeks ago and he rolled over, put his arms around me and said, I'm so glad I married you.

The nicest thing that my husband does for me is every morning he gets up and makes my lunch and every week he comes home with fresh flowers for me!!! He is the best, cleans cooks pumps my gas LOL etc.

What can I say that is why I married him!!!

gee.....he has done so many sweet things for me before and after we were married. hmmmm....well here's one, i always wanted to have a kitten and he hated cats and i mean hated them. i couldn't have animals where i lived so he offered to take the chance and get me a kitten and have it live with him in his apartment even though he wasn't suppose to have pets either. well he wound up falling so in love with our little baby that he wound up wanting another one. we now have two cats and we're talking about getting another.
