WHAT IS UP...(and a short rant)

with this weather??
I was getting all psyched about it warming up these last few days and now it's supposed to drop back to freezing over the weekend and into next week.

Meanwhile, our builder can't get us into our house because the town of Smithtown won't issue a Certificate of Occupancy (required to close) unless the driveway is in. Even though the inside of the house is DONE! We were told that we could close the first two weeks of March, but I'm starting to worry again.

The driveway can't go in unless the snow stops AND the ground defrosts...
The house is already almost 2 months over our estimated move date.

Please send some warm weather vibes my way.

Susan, I wish you lots of warm sunny Jamaica day. So that you can move into your new home. Chin up sweetie, I can imagine the anxiety. I hope everything gets done soon. Are you living out of boxes??? Luckily, we're not living out of boxes because I'm not motivated to pack anymore until we have a defiante date.
We do have TONS of boxes though from gifts that were sent to us after the wedding and it's starting to get tiresome stepping around them all the time.

Just went out there today and it's like a sea of mud Apparently we might be able to close even without the driveway, but the builder would have to put up a $3000 bond in order to get the Cert. of Occupancy.
We'll know by this week what they decide.
I'm really hoping to be in there by mid-March. But moving furniture without a solid driveway would ****.

Susan I am adding MORE {{{{warm weather vibes}}}} to this! We were out at our house today too, and since we hadn't shoveled since the blizzard, the house was still snowed-in and DH had to climb out on the roof in the pouring rain to clear 8 tons of slushy wet snow from the roof so that it won't be at risk of collapsing! We are NOT happy campers....I NEED SPRING so BADLY!

Thanks. I don't think the reality has hit either DH or me that it's actually ours. DH keeps saying it's the house he always dreamed of having. We're really blessed.

The house itself is 4 bedrooms on 2/3 acre in the cul-de-sac of a 16 home development. It's about 3500 square feet of living space with a full basement. More than enough for two. Hopefully we'll be able to fill it. Furniture before though LOL

It was actually a 4 house add on to a development that had just been built.
