We are inviting 300 guests to my daughter's wedding. At my son's, about 20% didn't attend. Do you think we could depend on that amount? The guy at the place said its more like 20 or 15% Does anyone remember the amount that they had not show?

It's usually around 20% - that's what I always had heard, and for our wedding I think it was 20% to the exact number! No one didn't show. What I do remember is after we gave the final count one or two people decided to 'not bring a guest' - and so I think you might be able to tell them one or two less than you actually have then when you go to pay (since that is closer to the actual date) tell them the exact number and pay for that number....they won't NOT take your money, trust me!

We invited 300 and about 250 said yes - so about 20%. Only about 240 actually showed up though.

we had about 20% respond 'no' ... it was mainly the 'and guest' portion from our single friends.

We had 18-20% not attend. But a lot of them were friends who didn't bring dates they were invited with.

we had a little over 30% say no
still a bone of contention for me as the majority of our no's came in AFTER the RSVP date - we didn't even have the opportunity to invite a b-list of coworkers because the no's came in too late and we didn't meet our minimum.

well, we invited A LOT of out of towners. Many weren't even from the United States. So, we had a 50% no rate.

I just wanted to thank everyone for your response. Sounds like good news for us because even though we're inviting around 300, the room could barely hold 275. 240 is really the magic number but I don't think thats happening.

we invited 260 and had about 175 attned... I think we had a higher % b/c we had many OOT guests...

We invited 280 and 165 came. I think so many people didn't come because It was graduation weekend.

I would say 20%. But I was happy with that. I had 150 at my wedding and it was perfect

We had alot of OOT'ers.. Invited 216, 145 showed up. I guess that's about 30%

We also had about 30% nos, but also had a large percentage of out of towners. We only had 1 person not show. She came to the church, so I think it might have been a last minute family emergency that came up.
