What should I do?

What should I do?

Hey guys,
So this is my first post on the newlywed board! I'm married for exactly one month today!
I'm just wondering what the proper ettiquite is for handling people who came to your wedding but didn't give a gift.
Should I wait and say nothing, considering they have up to a year to give a gift.
Should I tell them. 'Some of our gifts may have been lost, was yours one of them?'
Or should I just assume by now that no gift is coming and just forget it?'
TIA

I sent them a thank you card for spending our special day with us.. and didn't mention a gift since I didn't get one.

to us, it wasn't about gifts, it was more that they were able to be with us for our day.

I would send a note thanking them for being at the wedding. If for any reason they did get you a gift that got lost, getting a note like that would probably prompt them to call and ask you if you got their gift. If not, then at least you're not stooping to their level of rudeness.

I will add that I agree with Heather that, for some people, having them there is the gift. We had a lot of people who traveled and had to pay steep plane fare and hotel room costs just to be at our wedding and they didn't have much money. For those people I was so grateful they were able to be there that that was what mattered. We did have a couple of people who were downright RUDE but I just don't think it's worth being rude back. Plus you're right, technically they do have a year to give you something.

I would send a thank you card..and chalk it up as one of those things that happens at weddings...

This is the reason why I make sure that I have money on the side for weddings that I go to...I don't want to be stuck with not giving a gift....
