I will be graduating in Dec. with my masters in education. I recently changed careers. To date all of my state certification tests/papers have been under my maiden name. I think the correct thing to do is to finish all of my paper work till i get certified and then change my name.....the only thing is on some of the papers is states to place name that is under social security. Is it bad if I wait a few months before I change my name????
What do I put my resume under? I am going to be submitting them after the new year??

I would put everything under the name you plan to use from the start. If you plan to change your name I would definately do it before sending out resumes. JMO GOod LUck

Personally, I would say leave everything under your maiden name until you're certified -- for simplicity. send resumes under your maiden name -- it should match your certification.
for family events and in your heart, you can still be considered mrs. x. you don't need official documentation for that!

It's perfectly fine to wait a few months before you change your name, many brides do this for a variety of reasons!! There's no rule that says you have to go and do it as soon as you get back from your HM.
I'd put your maiden name on your resume and use that until you go and get your name changed.

On my resume, I started using my new last name, but puttng in paranthesis my maiden name. This way, when people call your references they won't be confused.

On my resume I kept my maiden name so there was no confusion when checking on old jobs.
You can certainly wait to change your name! Ask people in your field what they did. They'd help you the best!

i agree. i think this will make things easier.
no one says that you have to change you name in a given amount of time.
i'm not officially changing my name until dh officially adopts my son... that way, no one is left out.
