What to do for hubby's birthday?

Since we're not moving back in with dad now (long story) we now have to save money again like crazy to afford a down payment for a house or condo/townhouse. Therefore I am not sure what to do for DH's birthday. I was going to invite a bunch of his friends out to a restaurant and pay for it all but I think that's out of the question. And we go out to dinner ourselves all the time. We just got back from a long weekend so I don't think I want to do that again in 2 weeks.

I was thinking a bunch of us going to Great Adventure. I don't ride many rides myself so I would ask a few of his friends to come so he would have people to go on them with, but again I would feel like I should pay. Are tickets expensive? It would be fun for him but not really for me as I would just be sitting there doing nothing (I can't handle roller coaster or any scary rides).

I would host a bbq at my dad's for him, but then half his friends wouldn't be able to drink since they would have to drive home and that's no fun.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks
Mary

i like the Great Advneute idea - and I think Coke still has that buy one get one free ticket thing you could do, so it's cheaper
