i just heard mine on the radio.... ours was 'This Year's Love' by David Gray. Not the most appropriate when you listen to the words, but I LOVE this song and it was one of the few we agreed on.
DH doesn't remember but I heard it at Connelly's like 4+ years ago while we were eating there about a few months into our relationship and obsessed over it for weeks.
Originally I wanted 'Thank You' by Dido b/c i was a HUGE fan, and he took me to her concert like 6 months into dating, but he didn't really go for it.

Somebody by Depeche Mode. it's always been one of my favorite songs, and i always thought it would be a perfect wedding song if i ever got married. after DH and i were dating for about a year, Depeche Mode performed at MSG, and when they played Somebody, i told DH that when we got married, that would be our wedding song because he was my 'Somebody'.
DH got to pick his song as well, which was 'here with you' by Saliva. before the wedding, when he would hear it he would get teary because he said the song reminded him of me, and he couldn't wait to dance with me to the song at our wedding.

it was always just perfect for us. we have been together 10.5 years and we are that boring, comfortable couple and we wouldnt want it any other way
after i picked it i found out it was his parents' wedding song so it was even MORE perfect!!

We used Just You and Me by Rie Sinclair. I heard it on General Hospital and DH found it for me. I absolutely loved it. I wanted something that no one else was going to use

Hold You In My Arms by Ray LaMontagne... DH is a music snob too and doesn't like anything 'mainstream' or anything that's common. I had heard him play this song a few times and just thought it sounded so romantic... RL has such a great voice and I just love it. Quite a few people came up to us during the wedding to ask what song it was!

I Just Want To Be Your Everything by Andy Gibb.
We both knew, way before we even started thinking of a first dance song that we weren't going traditional, slow and sappy. That's just not us. And this was one of those songs that we both always loved, we'd sing it to each other, and as it got closer and we really started going over options, this is the one that always made us happiest.

'Can't Help Falling in Love with You' because DH is an Elvis fanatic. Also, our first dance was literally our first dance EVER. We needed something slow and easy for DH!

Ours was I Do (Cherish You) by 98 Degrees. The words fit the way we feel and I thought it really encompassed our relationship etc. Also, we have a running joke with Nick Lachey so it just seemed to be perfect.
We have other songs that we've dedicated to each other over the years, but for our first dance as husband and wife, I Do (Cherish You) was the best fit.

that was ours too! somewhat similar, except it wasn't anyone else's.....but we were together for 8 years and same kind of thing there was a loud AWWWWW when it came on haha b/c it was kind of a secret

He's a singer/song writer that travels the country with his wife. He came to Ny and played with our friends Greg & Steve who play at bars and restaurants around LI. I instantly fell in love with his music. DH and I knew we had to pick one of his songs and we were tossed for a while between thunderclap and revisited and we finally chose revisited. Our friends Greg & Steve were gonna play it at our wedding for us and Steve gets up to the Mic, (Greg already had his guitar on and ready..) and Steve says..'For a Very Special Couple, a very special song...sung by....LEE TYLER POST!!!!' My DH completely surprised me and asked Lee to come up and sing our wedding song!! I completely freaked out!!! It was one of the best moments of our wedding.
During the reception Lee played thunderclap and a few of my other favorates!!!

Ours was the old school version of 'You're All I Need to Get By' by Tammi Terrell and Marvin Gaye mixed into the newer Hip hop version with Mary J. Blige & Method Man. DH and I have always recited the hip hop one to each other so once I suggested mixing it with the original to make it a bit more 'wedding appropriate' he was sold. Plus we're not big slow dancers and wanted something faster.
At the wedding when it first came on we got the 'awww's from the crowd, but once that beat hit for the hip hop part and our bp joined in the place got crazy

it was 'I could not ask for more' Edwin McCain. DH wanted 'Truly Madly Deeply' by Savage Garden, which is a nice song, but I didn't want to tell him that it reminded me of my ex-boyfriend, so there was no way I was going to use that. I had a few picked out, made him listen to them over & over again, and he told me 'I don't know which one, pick whatever one you want'...........well fast forward to our first dance and instead of having our sweet little moment, he's saying 'what the hell song is this?' I didn't want this song, and he kept saying 'I wanted that one by what's his name' and I'm like who???? I had no clue which one he meant......now I look back at the pics of our first dance and laugh b/c I really know what he was saying in my ear
ETA- the other songs I considered were I'll Be by Edwin McCain and When you Love Someone- by Bryan Adams
