What were your biggest accomplishments this past year?

My biggest accomplishments:

- getting married (the bigger accomplishment would be not having a nervous breakdown!)
- renovating and decorating our first apartment
- running my first race ever (10k)
- running 2 half marathons

mine were:

graduating with my MSW and winning an award at grad
getting my first full time job (and getting the offer while still in school)
taking and passing my licensure exam
planning and executing a wedding in a city i'm not from
being married!

Being able to plan my wedding, be in 3 other weddings, help plan 1 wedding out of state a month after mine, and planning a bridal shower (my cousins) and her bachelorette party (a week after mine - my cousins) and getting it all done and affordable!!!!!

For me that's big enough! 5 weddings in 1 year (in 3 of them plus mine) and 7 weddings the year before (in 3 of them) I think I should get a medal or something being able to attend EVERYTHING, smile, and still have our wedding!

- my job and recent promotion - basically all the work I have done this year and I really feel like I grew up a lot in terms of my career
- planning a wedding and having my parents stay with us for 3 weeks in a tinyyyy apt
- surviving on one pay check for most of the yr and still managing to do almost everything we wanted and not to be in debt

O! And being able to live with these cluster headaches (a condition only 1% of the population has that I don't wish on my worst enemy! (going to explain in another post)

Doing some home renovations
Trying some new foods that used to skeeve me out big time
Becoming, as my friends put it, a 'Pilates Master'
Not killing the MIL, though there are 18 days left to the year so that might be edited out
Getting my passport. I know. I should've had it a long time ago. But now I do so

- Running my first race (just a 5K but when I started I want able to run for 2 minutes straight - no joke)

oh gosh Linda so sorry to hear you get those! i saw a special about them years ago on 20/20 and i remember seeing how awful they were.

Getting married to the man of my dreams was far and away my biggest accomplishment in 2010 and maybe ever. I was engaged once before and it took a lot out of me emotionally to call off a wedding and get out of the wrong relationship. So marrying my husband and having the most fun, playful, healthy, amazing relationship has been an absolute blessing!



Also in 2010...

Getting promoted and adopting our kitten!

*getting married...

*loosing the 25 lbs I wanted to before the wedding...

*Learning how to say NO to my family... (and this coming from the communal family door mat - so it's huge!)

*and realizing that while I love my younger brother, I do not have to like him or my SIL...and that doesn't make me a bad person.

3 years later, and I'm still trying to get my dog to stop jumping on people that come into our home! If you can teaching an iguana a new trick, I hopefully can get my dog to stop jumping!
