The other day I was in the car thinking, and of course I thought about making a LIW post lol
Since money is tight for me right now, I was thinking about the things I need and how much I would be willing to pay for them. So I wanted to see what you girls thought as well.
What would you be willing to pay for certain items you normally buy?:
I don't think I would ever pay more than $30 for a pair of jeans.
I think $20 for a shirt is reasonable depending on the shirt and how nice it is. (dressy/sexy/etc.)
I wont pay more than $8-10 for a tank top.
I am willing to pay up to $60 for new sheets.
$100 for a winter coat is reasonable to me.
I would pay $15 for eye shadow.
$10 for lunch seems like a good deal to me.
I can never get out of Walmart for under $100.
I think $3.00 for a cup of sprinkles for decorating cupcakes is too much lol
I don't like to spend more than $40 on shoes, but boots I will spend up to $60 for a nice pair that will last a long time.

Re: What would you be willing to pay?
wow, i pretty much agree with everything you listed. I love getting a good deal, so I would get the $100 coat when its on sale for $75 lol I try not to pay a lot for jeans either. As far as make up, I don't buy it too often so $15 for a bronzer or foundation isn't too bad.

Re: What would you be willing to pay?
I never spend a lot of clothing. I rarely buy name brands unless its jeans. I recently splurged on a pair of Joe jeans that were over 200 bucks. I dont normally do that! It was painful

lol. me too. But out here we have a super walmart which is where I also do all of my grocery shopping, so it's VERY hard to me to spend less than $100 each visit, but I try!!!
I'm the same as you on most things...
I won't spend more than $50 on a pair of jeans (preferably less, especially if it's a pair of capris)
I'd be willing to pay up to $30 on a nice skirt or sundress. Anymore than that disturbs me
$5 for a tank top
No more than $50 for shoes (unless they're those hott knee high hooker-boots. lol) - i don't care for expensive sneakers
$10 for slippers
Definitely willing to spend up to $40 for VS lingerie
$10-15 for a nice pair of VS panties (worth every cent. lol)
$50-60 for a nice bra
Less than $5 for hair pieces (headbands, ect)
Less than $10 for any kind of makeup
Up to $30 for a DVD, $15 for a CD
Up to $200 for a really good coat (has to be worth it tho)
...can't think of anything else right now. But my price limits have definitely gone down since getting engaged. I used to spend a lot more freely before money got tight and and before my money was not just my own anymore

I try to be really ecominical with most things but certain things that I have limits on:
Liploss- No more then 20 and that's only bc I use the MAC ones Purses- No more then 200 I am a Coach W h o r e Boots- I try to stick to no more then 50-75. Going out shirts - (like clubby) no more then $20 I normally wear them once maybe twice the most.
ETA: One more:
Car payment- no more then 350 a month. If its more then that I cant afford it so I wont be driving it.

Re: What would you be willing to pay?
I dont really have limits
if something fits nicely and I feel good in it, I buy it. I shop only in stores that I can afford and I dont often splurge- but I have paid as much as $150 for jeans, $400 for a purse- which was totally a one time deal, and I dont want to discuss shoes

Me either, or Target. Most times I can't get out for under 200.
I love bargains...I love the hunt for them too. Clothes, furniture, home items however..
I splurge on things that I think are worth and that I love, and name brands that I know last.
Since I've got a thing for sheets so for a good thread count I'd pay 100-200.
For a good pair of shoes I'd pay 150
Perfume...50-120 depending on the brand.
I admit I spend way too much on makeup

Re: What would you be willing to pay?
I'm all about finding good deals but there are some things I need to spend $$ on and in other areas I rarely spend anything.
$90+ for jeans.
I spend what I need to on shirts, but won't spend $50 on it.
I wont pay more than $15 on a tank top
I am willing to pay up to $60 for new sheets. (See to me this is too much lol)
Anywhere from $100+ on a winter coat, but I won't spend more than $300.
$5-$8 on sale for eye shadow.
I bring my lunch and breakfast to work.
I won't spend more than .99 cents per lb for fruit. Some veggies I'll go up to $1.50 per lb.
I won't spend more than $3.99 on a 24 pack of water.
I'm considering moving my prescriptions over to walmart because my sister who has a job but doesn't have insurance yet spends $9 for her BC and me that has insurance pays $40 for my BC at CVS!

Re: What would you be willing to pay?
i do my best to find good deals, but there are some things i will spend $$ on and not think twice about it.
lipgloss - no more than $25 - i'm a NARS junky, and they're $24 a pop.
jeans - no more than $70
coat - up to $300, but if push came to shove i'd go up to $400
shoes - $115
bags - no more than $400, but that's because i've yet to purchase one for more than that and really don't plan to.
things for the house though i will definitely spend $$. for example, we bought new wood floors for the entire upstairs. we ended up blowing our budget by $1,000 (yes, i'm still hurting from that one), but we figure it's an investment, and we LOVE the floors. when we redo our kitchen, i'm being very mindful of prices, but again, feel that it's an investment, it will only add value to our home, so it doesn't hurt quite as much. things to cut back on - maple cabinets instead of cherry cabinets, no viking stove or sub zero fridge - GE will be just fine.

we actually like one of their sets - its the Dakota - we know it would be perfect for the house since we want a really casual dining area since neither one of us likes formal dining room furniture - if i knew we were getting the house for sure i would buy it but we are still waiting.........our next update from the bank is supposed to be tomorrow

Yup lol It's sick..I know. I should probably add that the only eye shadow I use is M.A.C. so that's $15. but it lasts so long, and stays on long and blends well, so I justify it that way.

Sara- how much would you pay for a cupcake
I actually went to Crumbs for the first time this weekend, and I paid $3.75 for one of the large cupcakes.
I think it was a little much. I would've liked to pay $2.00 or $2.50. Seeing as how they weren't that good anyway haha

I agree, $60 is a lot for sheets, but we have a Full size bed and if I want to get a nice set, it's like $30-40 bucks. Depending on the thread count sometimes even more, so if I found a really nice set I wouldn't mind spending up to $60.
I got a gift card for linens n things for our engagment. I purchased a $70 duvet cover. I don't think I would've spent that much on just a cover, but it is nice.

Re: What would you be willing to pay?
Wow what a great post, Sara!
I am DEF not one for name brands on anything, whether it be clothes, shoes, pocketbooks, makeup, you name it. I feel that if I like it and would wear it/use it, I could care less that there is no name brand on it. I ALWAYS look for sales and use coupons. I went to Kohls with my mom yesterday and got 4 super cute summer dresses and 3 tops all for like $100.
I use Cover Girl eye liner and Maybelline mascara so they aren't super expensive anyway. Again, not too picky about that stuff.
Now that I am thinking about it, I guess I am not picky about brand on anything really
Even when I am food shopping, I really don't care if something is the store brand to save some money. That is why DH is NOT allowed to food shop ever b/c he doesn't look at prices and throws all the expensive brands into the cart If he did the food shopping, we'd spend $200 every week!!
