What Would You Do?

THe night of our wedding, DH put my bouquet in the little fridge at the hotel...in the morning it was frozen and ruined and we had to throw it out and I was really upset. DH said that he would have the florist make me another one so I can save it. Is it stupid to spend the $$ on that to have it as a keepsake at this point? What do you think?
TIA

Re: What Would You Do?

No, I want a florist to make me a silk flower replica of mine. I don't think it would be that expensive, and if you get it in silk you'll have it forever

Re: What Would You Do?

Honestly I was drying mine out and it looked great when we got back from our honeymoon but I need to take it down because it was hanging from the shower curtin rod. Anyways I put it in a bag to keep the cat away from it and needless to say some 'stuff' grew on it. Needless to say had to throw it away. I thought about having it recreated and too be honest, there was no reason. I wouldn't know what to do with it.

Re: What Would You Do?

I agree with Joy... I wound up throwing out my bouquet because it was gross.

Re: What Would You Do?

My mom cut all the roses off of it, unwound my dress fragment from the stems, and dried everything out for me. It's now in a plastic bag with all the other wedding stuff in a crate.

Re: What Would You Do?

I would forget it. I had my mom take mine hoem and dry it out and now almost 2 years later it is still at my moms. I had dried out 2 of the BM's bouquets and they are sitting in a closet collecting dust - not sure what to do with it or if I really would want to display it so long after my wedding.

Re: What Would You Do?

I'm glad I read this post b/c I was considering getting another bouquet made (someone walked off with mine at the reception).

But since other brides' bouquets didn't fare very well, maybe I won't bother...

Re: What Would You Do?

I wouldn't bother...I didn't want my whole bouquet - I didn't know what I'd do with it.

I cut off a few flowers, save my husband's bout and put them, along with my invitation and some pictures in a shadow box frame. I love it!

Re: What Would You Do?

I wouldn't bother either. I put my bo-k in the fridge so that the cat wouldn't get to it while we were on our HM, and when I started drying it after we got home, it had mold growing on it, so out it went. I was sad but in all honesty, I have nowhere to put it anyway.

Re: What Would You Do?

My bo-k was silk, so we have it displayed 1 year and 11 months later in our curio with our toasting flutes, my tiara, guest book, favor and some rice.

Paying for a real bo-k to be professionally preserved was way too expensive for our budget plus we move way too much, and having a silk made after the fact seemed silly so intead we just went for the silk from day one and had a lighter, none wilting and non allergic bouquet that allowed me to pick any flowers I wanted.

Re: What Would You Do?

My bouquet is currently hanging upside down in an open door closet drying. I'm beginning to think that I may end up tossing it. The only other place it would go is into a memory box that we are putting together. I could always make it into potpourri, but I'm really not a potpourri kind of girl.

I think I may save a couple of the dried flowers and put them in the box.

Re: What Would You Do?

I dried the roses out. I still have them in a vase. I tried to make X-mas ornaments of them. The second Christmas, I took them out of the box and they fell apart. You have pictures of your bouquet. I wouldn't bother.

Re: What Would You Do?

i would DEFINTLEY do it. i loved my flowers so much and was so upset that i was not able to enjoy them for longer (left on honeymoon).

i am also thinking of having my florist re-make my boquet and preserve it. my original bouqet is hanging in my basement and although it dried very nicely, i would still like to have it professionally preserved or made in silk.

Re: What Would You Do?

I also dried my bouquet out...had it on the shelf and in the process of packing and moving...it fell on the floor...so, it got tossed. I was so upset...and DH felt so bad saying we'll just get another one...but, I've decided against this. #1 - what would I really do with it and #2 - it's not THE bouquet...it's an imposter...just not the same.

Re: What Would You Do?

I don't need anymore keepsakes. I'd rather remember what it looked like through pictures.
