What would you do?
Today I went to a Bridal Shower for a close friend of mine. Friday night I had gone to Pier 1 with my DH. When we got there they gave us a copy of her registry and we were reading it when my friend came up behind us. I put the registry away in my purse and told her we were there to pick up some things for our house. She tells me today that the sales associates told her that I was there shopping for her shower after I left. I'm so mad. I don't think they should have told her why I was there.

Re: What would you do?
Your right, the associate should NOT have told your friend that you were there for her
That was rude of them. But I guess there is nothing you can do. Does she know when the shower is??
Hopefully you will still surprise her

Re: What would you do?
I would also say something to Pier 1. I'm sure they would NOT be happy to hear that...

Re: What would you do?
OMG, I would DEFINATELY CALL management at Pier 1 and write a letter, dramatize it a bit
saying how they ruined a bridal shower, when it was supposed to be a special event, how they should be HELPING not making matters worse.you should definately get some type of 'apology' hopefully in the form of a gift certificate!
OMG that employee will be in big trouble, and you will be shopping away !

Re: What would you do?
Let me try it at a different angle - do you think your friend would have said something like that trying to get a feel when her shower is? I know girls like that...Otherwise, I would call Pier 1 and express my dissatisfaction with that service.

Re: What would you do?
I wouldnt bother to call Pier One. Most people in those types of jobs could care less...plus, they were probably just being friendly not realizing their mistake. Why did your friend ask what you were doing there?

Re: What would you do?
Although- what if she already knew & she is using this as an excuse? It is SO hard to keep showers a secret- especially when bride's check their registry constantly (I was guilty of this)... IMO it sounds like the perfect excuse to get out of the surprise...OR- if she was surprised I don't think SHE should've said anything to you... why make you feel bad for participating in ruining her surprise? My mom ruined my surprise, but I didn't tell her or anyone else, I just acted surprised- it's the decent thing to do.

Re: What would you do?
I wouldn't call to speak to the manager or anything, but I would go in and say something directly to the sales person, just so she knows what a complete retard she is!

Re: What would you do?
That's really annoying but also one of those things that happens and I would let it go.I think your friend must have asked about what you bought or said something otherwise the sales person would have no idea. I really don't think they pay that close attention.
I also don't think she should have said anything to you. But as much as we all like surprises I think it's human nature to be really curious and she was probably excited to know that her shower was probably coming close.

Re: What would you do?
I think you def should call, write, etc-- and chances are the sales associate probably put together that the name on the registry matched your friend--either because she was updating her registry or her credit card if she bought something--so not neccessarily her snooping!!!We had that happen in a shoe store---customer in front of us had same last name and sales associate told us their life story(ok so what he knew about their life story--but I think you get the point!!!)

Re: What would you do?
My friends shower was yesterday and she was very surprised. She definately had no clue it was yesterday. From what she told me, when we were both in the store the other night we were both waiting at the register together. Me to buy my 2 candles and her to find out about something on her registry and to add more to it. (I went back the next day to buy for her shower since I couldn't do it with her there.) She said that after I left the sales girl told her that I was shopping for her registry. She said she couldn't believe that she had even brought it up. I just still can't believe the sales girl would say something. At least she didn't ruin her surprise.
