What would you do?? long...
Okay, here's the deal...I got my BM's these cashmere wraps as a gift (along with a few other things) to wear for the wedding. The night of the wedding one BM left it in the bathroom of the bridal suite and somehow it had gotten locked. When we were getting ready to leave she was telling both the Maitre'd and the Bridal Attendant that it was locked in there and she wanted it before she left. They told her that they didn't have a key and that they would put it aside for her.
So I leave for my HM a day later and she assumes that I somehow got it.
So I call the hall(around three weeks later) and the receptionist tells me that I waited too long and why would I assume that the'd have it after such a long period of time..snotty lady...
Now we're not even talking a month here. Apparently the Maitre'd that did my wedding is no longer with them and I finally spoke to the GM and he said that he is still trying to find it.
He is aware of the situation also because he asked the Bridal Attendant and she remembers the whole situation. Now I spent $140 on this thing-I have the receipt. They obvoiusly don't have it and I want my money back. They haven't offered to pay for it and I am very scared of confrontation. In the meantime I went and got her another one because I felt bad, and now I'm out $280. Should I fight with them and try to get my money back???It just gets me upset because they did a great wedding and they know that they lost it and they aren't stepping up to the plate...
what should I do?

Re: What would you do?? long...
i would see what happnes after they call you to say they cant find it. in all honesty i bet it was either thrown away or taken by someone. i would tell them that you thought it would be safe since it was locked in the bridal suite and that you would like to be reimbursed. i wouldnt fit it if they refuse but they might be gracious about it and offer you a refund at least partially

I would ask to be reimbursed but I wouldnt expect to actually receive the money. Im sure it wasnt intentional and they should have dealt with this better but I could see how it could have easily been lost in the shuffle. You are a very nice person for buying her another one b/c I would have not even gotten involved.

I too would ask for a reimbursment - they broke something of mine (a plastic piece that went over a candle, it was really cheap and not a big deal) My maitre'd offered money to replace it!!Good luck!! let us know what happen's!!!!

Re: What would you do?? long...
Wow, do you think the maitre'd took it?I would go in with your DH and calmly talk to the manager (not the snotty lady) and ask to be refunded the cost of the shawl, since it was left in their club and both you and the BM were told they would get it and put it aside.
If they do not, calmly explain that you feel it is their responsibility to reimburse you and if they do not you will file a claim in small claims court. No one wants to take time out to go there so they probably will refund your money at that point. I hope they do, it is really the only proper thing to do.
Good luck
Mary
